I really like this 3rd man run exercise for imprinting passing patterns as well. Thinking about training a full team, I think it would be possible to have your primary defenders (6-8 of them for example) play rondos in one of the corners and just alternate who runs in to defend during this part of the training session. This way everyone is working. The asst coach (if you are lucky enough to have one) could work with those playing Rondos. You could do this with a +1 with a pennie/bib in the hand (that player tosses it to someone else) when it is their turn to next run into the box to be the primary defender here. I also like the progression of 3v2 overload. Also key is to work with defenders to push up, forcing attackers to think about offsides. Nice work Coach!

Hey Mark. This has been a team favorite since last summer. Great exercise and lots of progressions and variations. Thanks.
