Peter Barron MBE is one of the most respected journalists in the provincial press as well as a successful children's author, BBC broadcaster, accomplished presenter, and a public speaker with a national reputation.
Peter recently stepped down as editor of The Northern Echo after 17 years in the hot-seat but continues as a columnist and community representative for the Great Daily of the North. He is a former UK Columnist of the Year and North-East Journalist of the Year.
In 2013 he was awarded the MBE for outstanding services to journalism and North-East life. A year later, he was presented with a lifetime of achievement award by the Society of Editors.
He continues to be an active member of the Society of Editors, with strong contacts with editors throughout the North-East and the UK. Now running his own media company, Peter has the benefit of knowing what it's like on the other side of the fence and how to get the most out of the media.
Whatever happened to Claudia, her parents have both been amazing. Now without the heroic Dad, the heroic Mum continues the good fight. She deserves the answer and somebody out there knows what the answer is.

Following Claudia’s disappearance…at times, Joan Lawrence would join us (a friendship group in York) + we’d meet for lunch or a coffee + more so at private events. She is a truly remarkable lady. Quiet, humble, completely unassuming, always gently spoken…+ never a sense of self pity. However, beneath her brave face, you can imagine, lies a very broken lady, yet she never, ever, seeks attention or publicity except, when she’s approached for occasional documentaries like this one. I have an admiration for Joan l would not afford to anyone else. When l retired, l returned to my roots + now I’m no longer able travel but have remained in touch with some from our group, whom always keep me in the loop when they see her. And for those of you overthinking Joan’s comment…in wondering what happened to her in the house…is not news…the Police raised this concern to all the Media right from the outset! Hauntingly sad. Psychic Medium Roberto on RU-vid, suggests Claudia was taken by an older man who worked at a large Medical Facility and was known to Claudia. I hope the Police have checked on that tip, because Roberto, seems accurate concerning what he says about other people.

I have a huge interest in missing person cases. And took a huge interest in Claudia's case. I remember travelling to York for a meal and wanting just to drive past her house and to remember her. Despite me not knowing Claudia personally, I felt emotional driving past looking at the green door. And the horrible emptying feel I got. I really really hope this case is solved soon.

You come along and somehow know that I'm wrong, without having seen the photos I have. You automatically assume the police are right, but if this was your daughter would you want to see the photo's? I’ve studied this case for years in depth, I don’t believe Claudia left that morning, I believe she came into harm the night before, It’s the hair straighteners, there missing, she worked in a kitchen there’s Noway she would have taken them to work. I believe she went out the night before an took them with her an metup with her killer, giris will take there hair straighteners out with them if there staying out for the night straighten there hair in the morning an leave, I’ve seen this myself so I know. I’ve never understood why her friends never went and knocked on the door the night that she didn’t turn up to meet her friends in the pub? It was only a few doors down from the pub.

I trained with guys like Cram with Nike Boston in the 1980s. I still can’t figure out to this day how they were so fast. Unlike Coe, Ovett, Hisham El Geurouj where you could see their speed. Guys like Steve Scott, Steve Cram had sneaky speed.
