i'm 23 years old and vlog my journey navigating my life post-grad. i currently work as a software engineer at aws, but you’ll see my experience as a community college and ucla transfer student if you scroll down enough. i love editing videos, dancing, and playing pc games!!! :D
i edited got7 and kpop videos on @daydreamer in high school and a little into college; now i hope to continue to make people happy, inspire and help others through my irl content.
thank you for being here, enjoy your stay ^^ ✧・゚:*
The one thing I waiting to hear in the video was the actual tool for typing: the keyboard. There are so many versions of keyboards out there with different types of keys. Is there a type of keyboard that helps you type better or faster ?
Hi Jessica, I am incoming transfer major in ee. Which UCLA CS classes are helpful for solely getting SWE internship as a non-CS major. I have already finished 31, 32, 33, math 61, and logic design at my CC. Or if you think clubs or projects are more helpful, then I would like to know your opinion about it as well.
I absolutely love your videos - from transfer videos to daily vlogs! Your videos inspire me to be motivated and make use of every single day :) Thank you for your inspiriting content!!
When you started at Amazon did they provided relocation assistance for you by paying for your flight and stipends for your apartment? I know in some cases they provide corporate housing for the employees if they choose. How do you like working there?
Is this typing with 100% accuracy or at least a very high rate of accuracy? I learned to touch type when I was about 44 and it has been incredibly useful when I have been typing stuff on a computer. I ahve found it very useful when you are transcribing something from a hard copy of text. 907457
For the most part it really, really is just practice. Before the bulk of my nerve damage I averaged 98% 186wpm, got it from scientific notation and expanded. Look into the shorthand scribes or stenographers use and work up to full words
just practice a lot but a big problem that beginners tend to struggle with when they practice a lot is they don't use the right hand key placement. it might suck at first but over time you'll get used to it but I really suggest learning the correct hand and key placement because if you practice using the wrong placement then your hands are gonna get used to that specific placement (which isn't good because then you'll be stuck at a specific wpm without improvement). i also recommend to look ahead when typing. when you're typing the first word, look at the second word that comes after. this may also be hard at first but honestly, it all comes down to muscle memory! hope that makes sense and helps ^^
I'm surprised she didn't mention ctrl + left arrow or right arrow keys to jump back for forward one word, ctrl + up or down arrow to move up or down a paragraph, ctrl + home or end to get to the start or end of a document. great video, though.
Could you make a vid about how much you earn working at AWS? I’m a current CS Major undergrad & wanted to get some input from someone like yourself getting compensation from one of the tech giants like Amazon! Please & Thank you 🙏🏾!
Thank you for the ztype game recommendation !! I was broken hearted when I bought The Typing Of The Dead because it is not available for Mac, but ztype is very challenging
on call means i can get paged at any time to handle issues! the shift lasts for one week so the on call has to be on standby / ready to respond if anything happens, on top of their normal work
I'm wondering why you don't take public commute in the dark. Is it not safe in San Francisco? Btw great vid. I love your channel. Such a wholesome and fun space. I was just watching your graduation vid and it was so great seeing all the memories you made, reminded me of my time, i graduated around the same time too. I think the first video i watched of yours was the typing one, and then quickly connected when found out you're a swe. And if you haven't figured out the fun part yet, im a dev too Wish you all the best Bye bye, xoxo🎉🎉
yea i like to not be out when it’s dark downtown. it can be unsafe though realistically nothing would probably happen, but i like to just be safe about these things! thank you for the kind comment :,) it also brought me nostalgia to read this 🥹 wishing you the best as well!
For a moment I thought I accidentally rewind the video when I reached 4:06, because it was almost the same vibe as the start of your video when you were still getting into the morning rhythm. "What am I doing actually?" You're recording a vlog! 🤣 By 5:26, I really thought I had a serious case of deja vu! Pause and then pause at 0:34 too and you'll see what I mean. 🙊😆 Edit: And then 1:54 and 6:30 too! If you did this intentionally for some sort of continuity, then I applaud you. It's really fun to watch and experience!
those specific moments weren’t intentional but this is a cool analysis! it probably happened because i re-use the same angles and what not :,) and i am out of it a lot 😆
@@dvyjessica Wow that's even better! Re-using angles has its benefits too as it establishes a pattern (which is what vlogs are usually about -- Routine). Heyy to be fair, you were recording it in office wear. If you had a photographer vest or something like that, I'm sure you'd be able to explore more styles of videography. 😄
