@@StephsAntics It is pretty isn't it. It's the favourite journal I've used this year. Sorry but i won't be doing any more empty journal collection videos as i just have waaaaay too many journals. My last empty journal collection video had to be filmed in 10+ parts. Once I start buying journals enmass again I'll do a video with the new additions to my collection.
@kiwichick1380 hahaha that's fair I'm pretty sure I've watched all of them lol males sense though I don't blame ya who knows maybe you'll finish them all someday !
Wow!!! That’s a lot of journals!! 😍😍 Love it!! ✨❤️🌹 thank you so much for doing the tag! I really enjoyed your video! 🥰💕 &&& OMG!!! And Outlander journal!!!!! Ahhhh I need it in my life! It’s beautiful! 🤩
I love seeing how much writing you do. You are about the only person who writes more than I do! I can’t wait to see what the rest of the year brings for you.
The black journal with the "Tom Marvolo Riddle" names belongs to the Harry Potter Franchise. :) I would love to know how you can fill a journal in a day. I struggle, real hard with my journal slumps. Oh, and Congrats on the success on your No Buy Challenge!
Thanks for your comment and congratulations. Journal slumps can be hard to get out of especially if mental health issues are involved. I wish I had some advice to help. For me January is a slow month activity-wise so it is when I really get stuck into my journal projects. They are usually based on some aspect of psychology so there is a lot of reflecting on my life, behaviour, triggers, trauma etc and because I find psychology so fasinating I write a lot about it in my journals. I can easy spend the whole day writing hense how I can fill a really small journal in a day. I have studied and reflected on attachment theory, polyvagal theory, dysfunctional, abusive vs healthy relationships, family systems, personality types etc and I write about how all of this stuff relates to me, my family, past relationships etc. Some of it is tough to look at but I'm always looking at ways to better cope with things and how to be the best version of me as I can so I find it very rewarding. That is how I write so much. Plus I do my usual journaling too about what is going on in the world and how it effects me.
Thanks so much. It was tough going at the beginning but I think I'm used to not buying stuff now and I have completely lost the desire to purchase anything journaling related.
Hi, Thanks for your interest in my channel. Having tried out all sorts of different journal brands and sizes, my favourite journal size to write in is A5. This size allows me to stick lots of ephemera into my journals, most stickers look great on pages of this size and the page sizes aren't too big and daunting to write on.
@@kiwichick1380 I also enjoy the A5 size journals. I also find the B5 to be a great size. Get to enjoy using ephemera and still leave plenty of space for journaling.
How do you find the overall quality of notebooks and stationery from Temu? Maybe you need to consider a low buy instead of a No Buy. You could challenge yourself to x amount of no buy stationery days each month to start with so that you can build from there knowing that they are always going to be certain times when you are likely to splurge on stationery like back to school. You could also challenge yourself not to buy stationery every other month. The key thing is not to then compensate by buying too much stationery in the month that you are able to purchase. You definitely don't want to hoard things like pens and run the risk that when you get around to using them that the ink has run dry or have stickers that end up losing their stickiness. The biggest thing is to recognise your trigger points and work with them so you don't think you are going to automatically set yourself up to fail.
I like the quality of temu's journals but then I only use ballpoint pens which never bleed through. All of temu's journals are real sturdy binding wise. The only exception is the van gogh square sketchbooks I bought to journal in. The spine started peeling away just by opening and closing it so I wouldn't recommend them. Thanks for the great advice on my no buy challenge. I definitely think a low buy to start would be a good idea to ease me into the challenge. I've already found that some of my pens don't work by the time I got to use them 😔. So I'm aiming to not buy anything until I absolutely need them.
Do you have any tips against journal slumps? Why do you write about articles? Because you are analyzing them and giving your opinion on them? What keeps you writing?
I do have some tips, which are the opposite of the advice other journalers recommend. My advice is keep writing and if that means forcing yourself to write when you don't feel like it, just do it. The reason I say this is that I find that when I'm in a journaling slump, if I keep writing, then I actually write my way out of the journaling slump. Now what you write about is important when doing this. You need to do something completely different in order for you to get your inspiration back for writing. What works for me is giving myself a project and this means finding a topic that you are really interested in learning about, researching that topic and using your journal to record what you have learnt. Some of my past topics have been urban legends in my town, city, country; mythological creatures around the world (there are so many more than bigfoot and aliens). I decorate the pages with pics of that topic. I also reflect on what my theories are regarding these things. Your topic needs to be broad enough that it can run for at least a week. I find that during that week , I get my inspiration back for journaling and then I slowly incorporate my normal journaling back into my practice again. I hope this helps.
@@kiwichick1380 That is a really good idea, Kiwi. My only problem is, that I have a genereal depression or burnout regarding life. I don't find topics anymore that interest me much. I feel no need to write about anything. And in those moments, I hit a total roadblock. I have not answered penpal mail for six months. I feel so guilty about that, too. Well, today, I gonna make a flip through. I made it halfway through my very slim journal, and it took so long!
Hi, thanks for your comment. I'm trying to do a no buy because I have enough journals to last me until I'm 250 years old 😆 and living in a studio flat I am literally drowning in notebooks. I have nowhere to store any more and i want to try and save some money.
I can't work due to health reasons so I have a lot of free time. Plus I print out news articles and have a good old rant about how the world has gone to crap. I think what takes up the most space in my journals are the self improvement projects I do. There's a lot of reflecting on that. Plus I print out interesting stuff I've learnt. Speaking of self improvement topics, I did the willpower challenge last year - I wasn't successful at all re not buying more journals 🤣. I have another plan though. Watch this space.
@@kiwichick1380 I would love to hear more about your self improvement projects, and how you use your journals for them. It sounds very interesting. - I don't work either. I am certified sick due to depression. But my story writing takes up most of my daily time. Sometimes I don't know what to write about in my journals, when I stay home every day and don't experience new things. But, yes, the world has gone to shits. Indeed.
I have a system in place so that I know where everything goes. I usually take note at the end of each day what articles I wanna print out. In my a4 journals 1 article no matter how long it is goes on one page with room left for my Reflection. I don't have a printer at home so print stuff at the library. I have codes on the empty pages so I know what goes there ie photos, article, that I need to print. I then take note of the name of the articles, date, publication. When everything is printed it goes into a folder linked to each journal. So I know where everything goes. Ideally I'd do it all at once but for me my daily journal writing is most important and I don't want to get behind in that, waiting to print stuff out at the library.
Whaaaaaat? You are on a no-buy 2024? It is almost unbelievable, considering how many journals you usually obtain. I gonna watch you to see if you are telling the truth. :)
🤣 I know shocking isn't it. I've got so many to use I thought I'd rein in my spending. I tried to do it last year but failed miserably. Will see how it goes.
@@kiwichick1380 Well, how about you update us every two to three weeks with a no-buy vlog throughout the year? Tell us about your temptations, and how you resist them. It might be fun, even if you have to admit that you failed once or twice. Because a lot of us stationery addicts struggle with this topic.
I'm glad you enjoyed it. I'm patiently waiting for the end of year journaling tag to come out so that I don't have to film my journals twice. Hopefully it won't be too much longer now.
I love your journal haul! You got some very nice things there. And what you said about Typo... I feel, the same is happening to TkMaxx in my country. They used to have multiple shelfs full of nice imported journal for a good price in the past, and now the shelfs are mostly filled with diary planners. I often find myself not getting anything there. It's sad.
Oh no, so TKMaxx is going the same way as Typo. That is sad. I grilled the lady at typo about why they aren't selling them anymore. She said that it's because people haven't been buying them. I had to stop myself from saying that if that was the case they should consider firing their notebook designer and getting a better one. Oh well its typo and TKMaxx's loss, us journallers will spend our money elsewhere.
You are right it is fun having a large collection of journals. The only trouble with having lots of choice is finding it difficult to choose what journal to use next. I've been trying to decide what sized journals to use for next year and it ain't going well as I've changed my mind about 10 times already 😆
Such a lovely handmade journal, love how the cover is designed and the variety of pages inside. Yes the light is flickering a little, I wouldn't know why that happens? Thanks for sharing.
That's great. I'm finding it real hard to stay off temu 😆. Am getting as much as I can while postage is free. My sticker storage situation is a bit of a disaster at the moment. I had everything arranged nicely in plastic storage drawers which broke and everything went everywhere and now with all my new stickers I have no where to put anything so I have two tote bags on the way which will hopefully fix the sticker, postcard, card storage problem.
I tried Temu for the very first time today, as I wasn't sure about the customs and if I have to pay extra when receiving them. My country has weird custons laws for everything that comes from overseas. I look forward to finding out. I saw all your Hauls and I really liked to see all those sticker packs. :D
