@@censport yeah what was the story on this??? The guy absolutely trashed the thing so quickly, its such a shame. I'm so glad this thing is in good hands!!
@@SAD-MART Thanks! For the engine damage, the flipper did not tell the buyer that it's a Japanese city car and was never designed to go on American interstates. So the kid drove it from Clarksville TN to Louisville KY and back. Probably blew the head gasket somewhere on I-65. He had also never driven a 右ハンドル (RHD) car before, so he pretty quickly hit a pole. As for the interior wear and filth, I don't know. Might not want to know. 🧐😝
@@censport Wow, man that's so much of a beating so quick! I honestly thought it had gotten stolen for that much hurt to be wrung through it. Going to be watching the redemption arc super close, best of luck!
its actually really old technology. The original trains had been proposed to operate like this on a single monorail track. There is two self correcting counter rotatine gyroscopes. Its actually amazing bit of kit but science for some reason just abandoned the idea as investors didnt like it ???? go figure
it took too much weight and space. The "original trains" you're referring to are the "Brennan Monorails" and were most definitely not "original trains." Classic dual-rail trains were around for a very long time before the Brennan was introduced. The Brennan's were not viable for use, as every single train car needed its own set of gyroscopes, taking too much space, way too much weight, and too much noise inside the car itself for passenger use.
It's literally about to pass in Tennessee in two days. Third reading, it's passed on the previous two readings and unless there are some hidden interest groups you guys are about to get lane-sharing this year. Congrats!
More than enough room, glad I live in the Netherlands where I can also do it past police cars and get 'offered' some extra room if need be. Thanks for the video! Stay safe and your head on a swivel.
Every video I have seen so far of someone driving the Gyro they are driving it slow I sure would like to see it going faster like atleast 50 or 60 mph I know it's a rare care but heck Jay Leno has some even rarer than this and he takes them on the interstate sometimes.
During the restoration of the Gyro-X, the museum discovered that the front suspension geometry had no rake (caster, in a 4-wheel car). So in effect, the car was designed to show off the gyroscope. Videos from 1967 must have been sped up, because with no rake, the car becomes unstable above roughly 15 mph. So in 2018 they disassembled the front suspension, scanned all of the components, and designed a new suspension with 10 degrees of rake. After that, the car was shipped to Italy for the 2019 Villa d'Este Concorso d'Eleganz, where it was driven from site to site. I'm curious, how do consider some of Jay's cars "rarer"? If there is only one example of a car ever built, how can anything be "rarer" than that?
This 6R4 was re-chipped and tuned to 450 BHP. I bought it for myself following my time as a volunteer rescue worker at the WTC on 9/11 where I helped rescue the last two survivors and recover the remains of others loved ones. I used it for a few years before selling it to Lane's Museum. I had developed quite a few medical issues from being at the WTC and needed the money to pay the bills NY refused to pay. Would have liked to keep her but circumstances wouldn't allow it. Nice to hear it run again. Maybe some day I'll visit it. Apparently they don't remember the full history of the car.
@@censport Well considering the air we breathed in at the WTC was more caustic than solid lye drain cleaner, I'm just happy to be alive. Thanks For Asking
This is in fact the same mechanism albeit a bit cooler almost as used in the Mercedes C215 CL Class. I have a 2000 model year and it does that too. Quite neat when u look at it from the front or above because the door moves uniquely but after some years they get worn out too it’s a heavy door after all!
Sadly from 2030 on all combustion cars including classics will be banned from public streets in entire EU and Scandinavia :-( In Germany the Green Peoples Party gave order to shorten fuel supply from 2025 on by reducing all conventional fuel stations to only one state operated central gas station per city or county. Now they even want to slow down all gas station fuel pumps from 20 litre per minute to 2 litre per minute...From 2027 on in the EU certain car spare parts will be banned too....as exhaust systems, turbo chargers and even some engine and gearbox oils...California and New York will do the same from 2027 on.... So no investments should be done in oil burning cars any longer....They even created a new kind of crime here, called emissions and smoke crime.
I saw your video for the first time. How wonderful there are so many historic airplanes!*⋆✈ Thank you for sharing a nice video. I'm Japanese. 🇯🇵 I'm introducing a video of Japanese scenery. It's an English telop, so please come and watch it.
Can you tell me how you were able to have it here in the states, I live in Florida, can you tell me if there's a way for me to get one here legally and be able to drive it. Thanks
