The CARB discussion 1:40-1:50 was very informative and kept getting better by 1:48-1:50. A nice carry on from Part 1 and the LLNL author’s slides and words. More slides here and even weblinks would’ve helped but I can hunt for it. I don’t believe we should abandon fossil & risk an #Electric-OPEC because that would be worse than the 1970s OPEC, and bring similar Stagflation. So we will need DAC+CCS all the more. OK I made it thru all 2:19. A long time but a worthy discussion. The comments by all near the end that CCS keeps many of the same jobs as oil (reservoir / production engineering, geology, etc) is key. I don’t think a lot of people realize this. Don’t let overregulation kill off CCS before it gets started. It’s a good idea.
Most of the whole 2nd Panel (ending at 1:40) sounds like they forgot when JFK said “Ask not what your country can do for you. Ask what you can do for your country”. That was the beginning of the road to Apollo 11 in 1969. People compare their desired Climate “Crisis” response to that era. But it’s not gonna happen, since instead they sound more like the famous Weezer “Beverly Hills” song’s “Gimme Gimme”. Very selfish.
I'm listening & liking the CCS+DAC technology but WHY do we have to pull the Race Card out (eg at 1:12 to 1:14 or so) and ruin a good technology discussion? Makes me want to stop listening, I can get that all day from CNN.
Women are under-represented in Science? Whose choice is that? Are they restricted from applying to science courses in university? No. Discover something. Fix something. Get over it and stop blaming men.
CCS is a very stupid project. Just stick to regenerative farming and growing trees, and save money, time, traffic -- you're going to take carbon out of the atmosphere and transfer it via...truck? gasoline powered? Sheer madness, as usual with high tech solutions. I don't buy it, sorry!
