I find it so weird when people single out shein cuz i feel like the overconsumption is the problem, shein hauls are just a symptom. You may ethically leave one vendor, but your spending addictions, habits, reasons are what need to change. So i think it actually takes away from the severity and desensitizes people if you single out any one vendor/drop-shipper. I'm even starting to feel desensitized to all the shein and temu talk. I said all that, but im glad people bring awareness however they can. I just think we need to hear more progressive things like solutions
it’s so wild to me that people are willing to shell out money consistently to buy cheap items over and over, but don’t want to save that money to buy a more quality item that will last so much longer and reduce waste! Win win.
Hiiiiii. Shawna. I feel that insta seems to be a huge ad plant-form that’s full of posts, posts that actually are ads and ads. What are your opinions on this. I’d be reslly happy if you talk a little bit more about this. Thanks.
The obsession amongst teens and young adults with the ability to be rich enough to live a “green-washed abundance of waste” aesthetic is so interesting to me. I know from experience it started on Pinterest & instagram, then took over TikTok with the “clean girl” & “old money” aesthetics…. But along with the obsession with Timothy chalamet, and ASMR…. I will never see/get it. Actually could not watch this video because the ASMR restock videos are so triggering to me 😅 also, I feel their only proving themselves to be vapid, as they care more about how any of it looks than how it actually functions.
This is just my opinion, but I feel like the main issue with the guest bathroom restock would just be the labels. I think by providing options on the “poop bombs” (lol) she gave people like me who are hypersensitive about how they leave a space a way to have it smell good. I don’t really care if people know I pooped but I do care if it smells bad afterwards. My thoughts were (without the labels) she could have people come in and choose their own scents based off of what’s available. Outside of the labels the brand calling itself “dude” would be the other issue. In my house, I normally just keep two sprays near the toilet so people have the option (if they want to use them at all) between what scents they want. 30:30
Right as you started discussing how things do not need to have a quick turnover of relevancy, I got an advert explaining the difference between 4!! Different iPhones and could not tell it was an advert. i thought we were poking fun at the redundancy of such products and how there's so many versions for no real reason other than a hunger for money 😅
For shopaholics Always tell yourself "do you need this ? Something better will come " If not wait till tomorrow! If you are still thinking about it than see why should you invest in it but sometimes you'll forget about the item i use to be one not anymore:)
We didn’t have “it girl” statuses at any school I went to, because nobody was making a big deal of what they wore/owned 😂 We just liked what we liked and kept it pushin.
Captions are a LOT of the time engagement bait. The whole “ every child deserves their own bathroom” could very well be engagement bait to get parents debating the authenticity of that statement and kids wanting to express their desire to have their own space or complain abt their current lifestyles etc
My first day of college orientation I spent an hour and a half walking around trying to find some duct tape to put the sole back on my shoe, I was in fact upset when my mother got rid of them
Brooke is also severely religious and most likely when she says “recovery” she probably means praying and going to church (nothing wrong with that but she needs therapy). She also made a TikTok recently saying that she considers certain Halloween decor “satanic” and tbh it was giving religious psychosis.
Also who really has the space and time to put away a whole season of clothes. So many things are still good for fall and winter if you layer correctly.
I used to watch a lot of capsule wardrobe videos. Which is more about getting high quality pieces that can last and be worn in different seasons. But I don't have that kind of money. But finally at almost 30 I have my set style I always throw together. All thrifted at amazing prices. Black and white striped shirts (I have 6 😅) Jeans black and blue Flora print Marron Army green or any green Mustard yellow and browns. In the summer I throw in creams and beige. And living in Florida it is workout clothes most of the year. But I am happy and make it less of a hassle to throw something. Also anything I am into is not trendy. No one really cares what I am wearing lol
Ok that slushy machine is kinda cool! I have a 15 year old son and he would use this ALL THE TIME lol!! I know I would drink more margaritas than I should lol!! No one needs this but it does look fun, not going to lie🤷🏼♀️
Many colleges rent out their dorm rooms for summer (like to conference attendees or budget travelers) so they want students out of there ASAP. In my era as a younger person (1980s) it was designer jeans that went quickly in & out of fashion like water bottles but I think people just donated those to thrift stores or women's shelters (the designer jeans were made to last, this was pre 'fast fashion'). I preferred just Levis Lee Jeans or Wranglers (far less expensive & more durable) what I wore wasn't going to make me more popular or accepted so why risk going broke trying?
So the bathroom 'restock' (it's really a redecoration), several of the non consumable products shown (the gold tray & other gold-colored stuff holders, the black wall shelf, the mouthwash dispenser, the towel warmer, the pink plumeria flower hair clip) are things available to be reviewed by Amazon Vine reviewers. If she is a Vine reviewer, she may have gotten them either for whatever her effective IRS taxable income rate was or is for that year (think between 10%-38% of the Amazon retail / list price) or possibly $0 (truly free) for things that are consumable like cotton swabs. Also those teeny-tiny mini-fridges are TERRIBLE at keeping drinks or food cold, they work okay to keep makeup maybe 20-30 degrees cooler than the room in a hot summer but you aren't going to have ice cold drinks or snacks using those things that are sized for an American Girl doll (1:3 scale) kitchen. And no neither your child nor her or his doll needs a mini-fridge.
1. I think you're overthinking it. If something is making you stressed/miserable it's OK to remove it from your life. You don't need to torture yourself over it. 2. Perhaps because you have a tough time getting rid of things, you wave wayyy more clothes than I expected for the content of your channel! I'd be curious to know how much of each type of item you have (tops, bottoms, etc) 3. Idk if you did no makeup or low-make up but it looks good. :)
You guys wanna know the tip to staying broke?? Seasonal trends! So glad someone is saying it. I'm so tired of the pumpkin spice sipping and buying into fall trends and the over decorating for fall.
180 dollars for 4 jar of candies?! This is a slap in the face of misery! For that money, I could fullfill/refill a pantry of healty, long lasting food (dried cereals and legumes, oild, tomato sauces, fruit juice, pasta, jam, flour, sugar). I can uderstand the satisfation looking at a orderly, full pantry, but so many open products (food, toiletries) meand only wastage, because they will expire or spoil before they will be consumed.
Not to be rude , but is it an american thing? Im danish have never seen people here be that extreme ... so bizarre... I don't watch TikTok so maybe its the norm
The only reason I would throw away a reusable towel is if I had to clean up biohazard messes like bodily fluids or chemicals that would make it unsafe to just toss in the wash or something like that other than that I am using it until there's nothing left
The thing I always wonder about is - where do they keep the excess? Assuming they don't just chuck the stuff that didn't fit, it's an additional symbol of wealth to have the SPACE to store half empty boxes of pasta & bottles of detergent out of sight somewhere to use for refills as needed. Also, I never considered multiple fridges, etc. but that does answer the question of "where do you keep your ACTUAL food?" Leftovers & etc. if your fridge is bursting with snacks & drinks? And I don't think I've EVER seen meat in these beyond lunch meat so, assuming they're not all vegetarians, where is their chicken, beef, pork? All of that said, I do see the utility of stocking a drawer of (healthy) snacks for kids. So they can self-serve rather than needing a parent to dole things put every time.
i think a lot of these are meant to be asmr or satisfying vids, esp the ones with the tapping and crinkling sounds. but the overconsumption is still pretty bad lol
you can def do this kind of asmr-ish content without such a huge excess of stuff but i think its part of the appeal of these bc its kind of mesmerizing and surreal to watch, the excess draws more attention and views
this already makes me mad three minutes in my dad owns a car shop and has those industrial size rolls of microfibre towels that last him so long for a BUISNESS no one needs that much so much waste 😢 dollar store has microfibre towels only need one or two
If you *DO* have a shopping addiction and are looking for good content about reducing how much you buy and getting rid of excess clothes, I recommend Lana Saint Clair. She has a series where she's sorting through actually tons of clothing while recovering from a thrifting addiction and its super entertaining and insightful.
I can't see Sol de janiero anymore without thinking about how their new scent apparently attracts wolf spiders because they accidently made the scent a pheromone for them
The only thing I'll make a defense for is the glove the puppy girl used. I have one (different color) for my dog and he loves the silicone bits on the glove. It's like a massage for him. However, I bought that glove 5 years ago and still use it regularly.
