A simple experiment to show surface tension is to take a dish of water and sprinkle pepper in it. Then drip a single drop of dish soap in the center and all the pepper will move away from the center to the edge of the dish.
The only stupid question is one that isn't asked. What's happening is the washing up detergent is breaking the surface tension of the water which allows for meduims such as glue or paint. for example, if your applying flock to a peice of terrain apply the wet water first and then apply your watered down PVA and it will soak through all the different layers and give you a secure bond and the flock won't be falling off. I hope that helps, feel free to throw anymore questions you might have.
If i dont have this Fairy brand of dish liquid could i see dawn dish detergent? if its different radio, what would the radio to water be? I think the dawn dish liquid is a lot more concentrated.
It's the stuff you use to wash your plates and cutlery with. Also known as dish soap, washing up liquid. Check out my wet water video, you'll see it there.
Woodchip on the ceiling "I know what your thinking 😜" but i would be 😜 if i had to scrape it all off!!. I had a leak "Well rather a big leak actually" could i fill the crack that it caused along with some of the paper coming off. Would it work?????
I just found your mordheim board series. Did you end up finishing the board? I'd love to see an update for it. I'm trying to figure out a layout for mine at the moment. But good to see you come back to RU-vid.
Unfortunately due to lockdown we havnt been able to meet up for a while, we are hoping to get cracking again this summer depending on what happens in regards to corona.
Good tutorial, I never used gloss varnish or Vallejo water effect. Normally I just put on spackling, smooth it out as best I can and then run a tire or wagon wheel across and paint it, then seal it. I will have to try those water effects out.
Thank you kindly, I used the vallejo in this video because I dont like it, it always cracks on me, try Woodland scenics polyurethane water. Its better than Vallejo but still not good as resin.
It is called poly-filler in the UK and caulk in the USA. It's commonly used for filling in holes in a wall, you can find it in most DIY and home stores.
Look great , so many cheap plastic plants available once you look outside the hobby suppliers or import yourself. That bit of work to get rid of that plastic shine is really worth the work imo.
Very good looking and playable! I'm starting a Mordheim scenery project (we start with single houses, for now) with a friend. That game is a bit old but very funny! I've played it just two-three times in my whole life. We have a printed tome (around 700 pages) of official and home rules (in italian. An italian guy translated and created optional rules, years ago).
Awesome!! Barny and I have always loved the game. If your on facebook feel free to put up any pictures of your projects on our group tabletop fanatics.
It's not extruded polystyrene, You can usually find foam board at local hobby shops. As far as I understand its marketed as foam board in the EU. Essentially its foam in between two pieces of paper.
Getting that first primer/colour on is one of my favourite parts of a build, really brings together all the disparate parts and odd colours to look like a cohesive whole. The board is looking amazing, really enjoying watching this come together, keep up the awesome work :)
