We are Kristal and Terry. After a combined 35+ years working in the mortgage industry, we have decided to unplug and travel the world. Our channel is here to inspire a new way of thinking and to encourage you to challenge social norms and realize that you don't have to live in the box that society expects us to live in.
We are taking this step, quitting our jobs and realizing our dream of becoming full time travelers. We want you to come on this adventure with us!
@@Stewie_boy We were very fortunate that it did not rain while we were in Tuscany but we each had a small travel size umbrella with us, just in case! 😊
You will only get the apple sauce with pork, weird you both ordered pork. Also, you guys have pancakes, bacon, and maple syrup, as a combination, for breakfast
It was a direct train, no changes and about a 2 hour ride. We went from Westhaven, Connecticut to Grand Central Station in New York City. We bought the tickets at the train station in Connecticut.
Sunday roast should always be beef. Ok, you can have pork if you prefer, but it ain't the traditional. Beef, or at a pinch, lamb, but pork? Hmmmm? Oh and that's a shit looking Yorkshire pudding. Not the size or shape per se, but it's looks overcooked, borderline burnt. Matey, gotta say it, that doesn't look like a very good example of a Sunday roast. And being central London, I bet it cost you a fortune too.
Texas War of Independence was fought in defense of slavery. Santa Anna had abolished it. But all the illegal immigrants, mostly from the southern states of the US, had brought theor slaves with them and wouldn't give them up. That was the sticking point. Santa Anna was prepared to acquiesce on virtially every other point. He allowed the immigrants (illegal though they were) because they were helping clear the land (guess who was doing the hard work) and drive out the Comanches. But Santa Anna had declared (after the Spanish, who practiced slavery, were gone) "No Mexican citizen shall be a slave". The bad guys won and slavery in Texas would not be abolished until after the Civil War. And proper enfranchisement for black people in southern states would be achieved until the 1960's. Jim Crow and segregation for black people for another hundred years. And Trump supporters would happily take it back that way.
It wasn't open or functional in 99. I was there for New Year, 2000 and it wasn't operational then. They wanted it for the New Year, but it was behind schedule. It wasn't illuminated, it was in the dark...comparatively, it wasn't quite finished. It was a couple of months later it started operation.
British food got a bad reputation from returning GI’s after the war. What you have to remember is that Britain was basically close to starvation and was heavily rationed. Your soldiers were very welcome to join us in the fight against the Nazis but I don’t think they had a full understanding of just how bad food shortages were. So food was bland and meat was very scarce. Please don’t believe all these old tales about our food and I promise not to believe all the tales about the US being the home of junk food exporting obesity habits around the world. 😀
One thing wrong with London, full of bloody tourists critiquing mediocre Pub food like it really matters. You lot are living in the past. Get with the programme (and the 21st Century) 😕😀😉
So sick of seeing these titles on thumbnails “How bad is English/British food?” Etc… to have that title pretty much says how stupid are you to not know, there’s good and bad in every cultural palettes, as well as difference of opinions! Pathetic
Please stop raising your little finger when you eat or drink - this is a myth that Brits do this - its actually really a low class thing to do - sorry!
That yorkshire pudding looked absolute rubbish, come to Yorkshire and find mucg better, Get out of London for good traditional food, You need to go north in the country not south.
I’m sorry. I’ve had pizza in America and Italy and dominoes is garbage compared to Italian pizza. You’ve become used to processed rubbish. Italian pizza is all fresh ingredients.
To be honest, I grew up in the 80’s and the food was pretty bad, but certainly over the last 20 years, it’s improved enormously. My Italian friend says Britains food has improved more than any other country.
Of all of the comments we’ve gotten regarding the Yorkshire Pudding, this is by far the best one! Made us both chuckle 😂 Thank you for watching and we hope to try a better version of YP on our next visit 😊
If you can switch out the cheap cooking oil mostly used in the typical ‘greasy spoon’ full English for olive oil, and use higher quality food ingredients rather than cheap factory farm eggs and bacon, etc - it’s a delicious breakfast and healthy. Avoid the greasy spoon version it will make you feel sick
British food is awesome. I was born in England raised by a British family on the other side of the pond. Baked dinner is traditional for Sunday when family get together. Sorry, but that roast dinner you was served . . . nah!! You need to go elsewhere.
I liked to take my wife to The Charles Hotel. She has diabetic neuropathy. I pushed her into the hotel's hot springs on a wheelchair; she came out pushing her chair, and has continued to improve for 10 years1
Visitors to Britain will often be able to find terrible food in front of them, targeting one off customers who will never be back. The UK is also poor at fast food compared to USA. Look at the reviews and get off the beaten track. The produce is generally better, more organic and less laced with steroids and antibiotics etc.
