Good morning ! , I have put a mechanical pump in a ford focus 1.8TDDI, and the tachometer of the instrument panel no longer works as is logical, is there any way to get a signal from somewhere and bring it to the frame to make it work?
Not sure. I would assume the signal comes from the pump on a diesel since there's no coil like on a gas. There could be some sort of a hall effect sensor on the pump, or off the crank somewhere, or it could be a totally mechanical cable driven setup.
Frequency can be at any voltage. Regular car voltage is 12 volts. There really isn't any "frequency" on a DC circuit, except for some sort of modulation (turning it on and off) which is how this tach works. Digital modulation is 1 and 0 (on and off) whereas an analog signal would be the raw voltage level being turned up and down on a linear scale.
Well frig and A, guy! Wicked funny and it quite literally made me LOL and spit out my fucking beer all ovah the god damned place. Mother wasn’t none too happy when I cranked up this video and played it when her church friends were over havin’ tea. Maybe preface vids with an adult language warning for those easily offended. Christ, I about pissed myself before it was done and from the looks I was gettin from the ole lady. No sense of humor these days. Bwahaaa!
Wow, drunk at 4:00 and in Europe they have dildo‘s implanted in their driver seats. You‘re a genuine cool piece of work... Come to europe, I‘ll show you around.
Now upgrade your front sway bar to a 2003 2004 wk which is about the same size but stiffer as it's not hollow. To really make a difference also upgrade the rear to adco 1" sway bar.
i have the same problem u had with that tacho in my case the back 4 pins went straight to black jack/black wire and the signal wire went to white jack/red-black wire i hooked the signal wire to negative term on coil but still doesnt work dont know where did u get the black wire unpluged from could u pls help me with this
I guess im asking the wrong place but does anyone know a trick to get back into an instagram account? I somehow forgot my login password. I would appreciate any assistance you can give me.
@Ralph Ahmed I really appreciate your reply. I got to the site thru google and I'm in the hacking process atm. I see it takes quite some time so I will get back to you later when my account password hopefully is recovered.
I've been trying for 2 years now and still couldn't get it.. and I think that u are a smart guy that can give an info somehow ;) I have a mk1 golf with a mk2 golf diesel engine .. the amount of information about how to install the tacho is amazing! but no info about diesel wiring ! the only info is that you can mount a wire all the way to the 3rd terminal of the alternator .. I don't have a third terminal in my alternator, and I'm willing to give the house away to get that tacho working! it's getting me crazy for 2 years now! any ideas?
Diesel Miro I was in the same boat, I build a diesel turbo corrado. If you google mk1 diesel gti tacho. Or pm me. You get a mk1 gti clocks swap a few resistors and now the petrol rev clocks can read the diesel signal from the alternator
hello, can i install a digital tachometer to a motorcycle with no tachometer? i have seen videos and no one have done that jet. mechanical tachometers have 5 wires red:+, black-,short black-, green and yellow: signal conected to the coil. but a digital tachometer just 4 wires. red+, black- green: line (don't know if connecting it to the coil will work) and yellow : fuel indicator (thachometer 2 in 1 but i just need the tachometer). sorry for my english. i hope you can help me :c
You should be able to. There's not much info about that tach on the page you linked, but I would imagine there would be some sort of setting for how many cylinders you have in order to get the proper reading. I'm gonna guess its gonna actually take its feed from the input side of the coil (coming from either the points or the ignition control module) and NOT the output side of the coil (going to the spark plugs). The difference being the input side is going to be a maximum of 12 volts and the output is going to be thousands of volts. And for 10 bucks, you might as well give it a shot.
+Atlas Fugged I had read that they actually make squeaking noises because they were made of a plastic instead of rubber. I'm guessing you have no complaints though.
+Atlas Fugged I figured that, I'm getting the feeling I just read some bad information by people who didn't know what they were doing. Thanks for the video it was quite informative.
