American living in Shanghai and enjoying life. Thank you to everyone who follows me on my journey and interacts with me. I wish us all a happy and healthy life.
There are all sort of cuisines to suit everyone around the world in Shanghai. More foreigners should visit China so that lies and disinformation spread by US and West mainstream media will be debunked.
The automatically generated English language on your video cannot appear in Chinese characters when selecting Auto Translate into Chinese. You may be using the wrong method or software when editing the video. It's a pity that many chinese missed this video because most Chinese people don't understand English. 😅
you go to subtitles and auto translate and select Chinese. I just tried it will translate. Sometimes may not be correct - but even in English generated sometimes has some errors. Hope that helps!
Bird's nest is nothing to write home about. I had it a lot as a kid, but really never a fan. Pigeon (squab) on the other hand, is delicious. It used to be a delicacy world wide including Europe and the US and was served in fine restaurants until the last few decades. It's not really like chicken, if anything it's more like duck except even more so. It's more dark meat, even the breast, and is just more flavorful.
These are interesting discussions. People who seek validation can be found in both China and the U.S. If you travel outside Shanghai, you may find people who are different. Shanghai has always been very commercial. It's easier to learn the language when you are already there although I understand it does take some effort. Although most locals prefer the local dialect, most people do speak Mandarin. Hope pros outweigh the cons for you as time passes.:)
