Im really happy to see a device similar in form factor as a GBA sp but with a much better screen. I love retro games but the only downside to playing on original hardware is often the screen quality and low brightness. This device solves that issue and also have the convenience of having thousands of games in one device
This is actually probably my favorite game of all time. It’s fast paced action and responsive yet simple controls make this game a gem. It’s very unique and I love the story telling and how it makes 5 different stages seamlessly work together since your flying from one to the other. I definitely wish this franchise could be revived. It’s so original and unique, it would provide endless possibilities for today’s gaming industry.
Yes! It's in my GBA top 5 easily and yet I still feel it's so underrated. Sure, it doesn't quite match the quality of the Genesis version but for what it is, it is quite a package. Looks great, runs great, sounds great, plays great. Sega has declared a resurrection of a lot of their old series so maybe Gunstar will make a comeback 🙏🏻
Interesting concept but I would prefer the video would have been about setting it up to use instead of two and a half minutes of watching you play video games
It is a wonderful little device. For the price and for what it can do, it is my everyday device. If it gets stolen, broken, or lost then it is not the end of the world. However, that is what I wanted it to be. A device that I could carry and play for hours, but not have to worry about every little scratch or to have the utmost care. It is my perfect little heading to battle kind of device.
Probably the best Superhero based side scroller on the GBA, controls feel great, level design is fun, and bosses can be frustrating, but also really fun too (I'm looking at you SCORPION). My favourite part of the game though has to be all the power ups you can collect, with some being hidden in some pretty smart spots, and other power ups you may need to get another power up in a future level (like needing the electric suit to get the belt) Overall this game rocks as the title says, you should definetly give it a shot.
True story. The movie tie-ins are plentiful but most aren't good quality. I love these original adaptations like this and X-Men Reign Of Apocalypse. Also on my list to check out is The Invincible Iron Man 👀

i am 20 years old, and i've never got to enjoy the gb/gba era, but i got a 3ds for my 11th birthday and thanks to the virtual console and emulation, i enjoyed some gb and gba gems. in the past i've got the opportunity to play the gba sp, and i fell in love with the console and the playability, so this console is perfect for me, i ordered mine yesterday and i'm sooo excited to finally play it and enjoy the form factor :) greetings from mexico
Using the battery as a heatsink is something that SOUNDS scary, but for the amount of heat this thing puts out it's actually fine. The battery is designed to handle temperatures significantly higher than what the chip set puts out. IIRC the GBA SP used the battery as a heatsink as well.
My favorite handheld so far. I've had it for over a week and it is the only retro handheld that didn't go in a drawer in a few days. I had an original SP back in the day and loved it. I'm tired of so many DMG style handhelds, when shoulder buttons are added to DMG format it makes the handheld awkward to hold.
It didnt sit right with me for some reason, so I sent it back and got RG35XX plus instead. I find it more pocketable due to its slimness and I also think it has much more pleasing buttons
I can't play DMG style systems, when you add shoulder buttons to a DMG they're really difficult to hit. The SP is the best because it is in that format but the shoulder buttons are comfortable to hit because they're in the same place as a GBA style handheld. I also don't like to pocket non-clamshell handhelds because the screen gets scratched. That is just me it seems, everyone loves DMG style handhelds.

I truly love these. I don't know the PSP sleeve to compare it to be I've used these for a while and they have stood the test of time whether in my pocket or backpack.
I once heard that it’ll be a mix of yellow and green X for the most part, but once you top off on ‘energy’, it’ll convert to being only green X until you drop to below max energy.
I downloaded the game's rom in the European and US versions and the game is silent, any ideas? (I saw people complaining about this on retroachievements too)
This is one of my favorite childhood games. I didn't even realize it was a remake when I played it as a kid. I have the NES version and prefer that one, but I do like the minigames better in Nightmare In Dreamland. I hope to own it again soon.
I remember getting into demon mode and somehow having unlimited time on the timer. It allowed me to breeze through the game easily….unfortunately….you end up getting the bad ending if you defeat the final boss in demon mode and get sent allllllll the way back to where you died (in my case, it was the second stage). Also, unlocking the other characters via the lab was a pain in the ass, as the number of crystals needed increases with each new character, forcing you to replay the story mode dozens of times to unlock everyone.
Absolutely do it. I swapped around between Retroarch on PC, Analogue Pocket, 2DSXL, and a GBA flash cart just to have a few different experiences and it was really enjoyable.
