Why not go in with a bigger cut . Cosmetics would be the least of my worries . I would be quite happy with a foot long cut . Is there a reason for such a tiny hole
I was in a wreck 2 yrs and my lumbar is fused at age 11 from scoliosis, I have had my life ruined since wreck I can’t walk/stand up straight longer than 5-8 min, my lower half of body goes completely numb the only way to describe it is if you’ve ever ran and you push yourself to where your legs feel like jello or noodles , I know I need something and the chiropractor I was sent to after wreck was a joke and actually made it worse and I don’t have insurance but I can’t live like this
They found my scoliosis at age 5 I wore multiple types of braces up until age 11 at which I then refused to wear brace my scoliosis kept on progressing obviously slowed by braces but surgery was inevitable they were hoping I could make it till 16 but I refused at 11 so my lumbar spine was fused with rods so I could grow from lower spine so considering I’m 5’8 I can’t imagine how tall I’d be. I have had 6 kids obviously without an epidural because no anesthesiologist would attempt it. But I’m 37 and just fine I do get some uncomfortableness in cold weather but I’m so used to it it doesn’t phase me
I got this at 36! If it happens young, minimal invasive surgery should be done. I did physical therapy, chiropractic treatment, stretching etc… Nothing helped. Steroid injections are for the elderly because is a band aid that eventually won’t work. I am finally seeing a surgeon. I can’t do this no more at 43. I am Living like a 80 year old.
Not for me, because beside my spinal (lumber) fusion surgery I also had both knees total replacement surgeries. I am walking & biking with my shear will. Perhaps in my next life I will run again.
Don't go see a surgeon unless you have visited all the non_surgeon professionals. The only thing these guys know is to cut you open and they can never tell the truth about complications.
At Texas Back Institute, we take a conservative rout to treating our patients, only 11% of our patients end up having surgery. We utilize many different conservative care modalities when creating a custom treatment plan for our patients.
In many cases our physicians will utilize physical therapy for spine conditions. We reccomend seeing a spine specialist to help you develop a treatment plan which may or may not include physical therapy for your particular condition.
I see that this man’s name is Jack Ziegler I would like to find out if he’s related to the founder of the original inter vertebrae disc that was founded in the Netherlands by Dr. Ziegler those spelled different. You know you don’t know, but he does not have an accent. I just found it odd looking on the website today because, I was 20 pounds too overweight to be in the trials back in 2000. That’s what made everything bad for me. I know that the Texas Institute is very good doctor. Guyer was my spine Doctor ❤💯💯💯💯
I also have scoliosis but it was known since I was born or since I was a toddler but by the time I was in high school I had surgery with rods and pins were inserted.
I m 56 yrs old male n suffering from low back pain on n often. No herniation or bulge or anythng like that only schmrl’s nodes in L3 and L5. Otherwise ddd whick mri report says. Im looking solution for l4-l5-s1 .. i suffering about 8 years. Recently i been told i have ankylosing spondylitis. So is that possibility to get disc replacement surgery if you have ankylosing spondylitis? Thank u
I wish they had thoracic replacement discs. I have two degenerated discs that resulted in facet joint arthritis because it took too long to discover, stupid doctors always diagnosed it as a muscle issue. I also have herniated discs in the lumbar region and would pretty much prefer this to fusion. Both sites cause nerve pinching, lots of pain and problems with my left leg ( drop foot). How long does the incision take to heal?
I will be having this done and was wondering if anyone experienced lower back/hip pain? For me it’s my C5 C6 and I have a spinal cord compression. I have a lot of pain, but the pain in the lower back is unbearable.
Can you recommend anyone in Nc for me? Five years with stenosis, did mild procedure,15 spine injections , pt, massage , chrico. You name it I’ve done it. My neurologist said there’s nothing else he can do.
I would like to see her with this condition and see if that tylenol or Ibuprofen will help with the pain. I and have this and severe central canal stenosis, and I will have surgery next month. But this condition wasn't found until I kept telling my primary doctor this pain was too much olease. I need an MRI and them they found it. It's not easy when your doctors don't really care or listen to us.
I have multi level spondylitis in Thoracic spine, Cervical Spine, and Lumbar spine. Now I have an Ascending Aortic Aneurysm. I am wondering if they’re connected?
Im 2 weeks post op from this surgery...recieved 2 discs. Flew to florida from long island, spent 6 days there. Best decision i ever made!!!! Im no longer in pain, and each day im getting stronger. Walking 5 miles a day and feeling amazing. 12 years of constant pain, i just wish i did this earlier
@squallrino6387 good morning. I saw Dr Jason Cuellar and he used JFK north hospital in Jupiter Florida. Care was amazing, staff were above and beyond angelic. My union covered the anesthesiologist, hospital rental, and cardiovascular surgeon. I paid Dr Cuellar 35k with a wire transfer. He does not accept insurance, and I'm glad I did it this way. It's Ameeica, and you get what you pay for. Dr's who take insurance would have to do like 3 of these surgeries a day to make a profit. I know I wouldn't want to be a Dr's third in a day, with my spine in his hands
@squallrino6387 holy shit I'm sorry man...RU-vid deleted it. Ok let me try again. I went to jfk north hospital in Jupiter. Procedure cost me 35k, my union picked up the other 3 expenses. Hospital rental, cardiovascular surgeon, and anesthesiologist. My Dr does not take insurance.
Few aches and pains?!? What! Its all day you stupid cow! Cant stand people that think they know about something but never experienced it before! Its literally 24/7!
Thank you for sharing. I have fusion surgery scheduled for June 17. I haven't had numbness like you did, just screaming pain from my hip to my foot and lots of buzziness. I've already had one surgery to treat the herniated disk. It wasn't enough. I'm feeling better about this surgery coming up now. Thanks again.
Herniating a disc was the worst thing that ever happened to me. Having back surgery was emotionally traumatic. I felt so alone and scared. That was 2019. I am now pain free and living a normal life. YOU can get there too! You will not be stuck in this pain forever!
I am 40 male and have had pain now for over 3 months lower back almost like kidney area but feels like the muscles are very stiff and pain is extreme. 6 visits to chiropractor and still not any better so I think dr visit may be needed. I just hate going and then they say it could be a million things.
I'm very happy to hear that worked for you...I also have S1 L5 and L6 issues. I'm just nervous for the recovery and if it will actually work. Steroid injections only make it worse
Were scheduled to have this injection. But i called and cancelled it. I haven't had a MRI yet so how will the doctor know where to inject. Plus if you are a diabetic having these kind of injections will spike you numbers up high and fast
Only one in one hundred thousand are birn with this. They just discussing cered mine .i go in july for a prpceedurevso we xan decide if more zare is needed . Im not ready to die
Hello doc my xray findings i have predisposition to lumbosacral instability. The weight bearing falls anterior to the sacral promontory what does this mean my doctor give me only muscle relaxant.
As long as you haven’t lost much disc height and it’s not bulging then I wouldn’t worry about it much. Just do the same core exercises that physical therapists would gave patients do and make sure you are careful and font herniate a disc. Once one herniation happens it’s way easier to do it again and the degeneration will speed up the more times you herniate it. I’ve herniated like six times and my disc looks like a flat tire. The problems come with fissures which weaken and cause bulging which can cause sciatic nerve pain which is horrible sometimes. If you lose height of the disc then you can get sponylolisthesis and it puts more stress on facet joints. If you lose a lot of height then bone spurs can start to develop. It sucks when you get this and you’re not even old yet.
I’m 6 days away from having my surgery with Dr. Blumenthal after 6 months of unsuccessful chiropractic treatment. The closer I get to my surgery date, the higher my freak out factor is getting, so I really do appreciate all the positive comments. POST SURGERY UPDATE: I simply cannot describe how better I feel already. Surgery was 7 am 04/09/24. The entire staff did a wonderful job. No change in my voice (That’s one of the possible negative outcomes which could be temporary or permanent). I’m now home, not much more than 24 hours after the procedure. I am very sore due to how they have to position the body during surgery and I know that there will be bumps in the recovery road. The surgery is just the first step. But Dr. Blumenthal did a fantastic job and was very easy to talk to. I also have to give a shoutout to the hospital staff. They were all the nicest and most professional staff I’ve seen. My overnight nurse, Teresa, was especially great. Took time to answer random questions that popped into my brain at 2:00 am and was nice as can be even when she had to fix things I messed up trying to do it myself. Lol Bottom line is that I highly recommend the Texas Back Institute and Dr. Blumenthal in particular.
