Lyrics for me Well you're the grand wild Have you noticed When you walk in, all the fairy boys are Pale and nervous Well my starship doesn't want me And neither does this world I'm glad I caught you on my view screen, Sailor You're the grand Wilde Come and court me Cause this wooing is what I'm wanting When my spacesuit comes to warm me And hold me like a god I am the captain of the gravity, Maxwell Everywhere I see your faces Hot one From my starship over Venus to the sun But it's a crime! Your mistaken! A momentary seizure of love Oh, love Well you're the grand wild But darling, I'm a mess I've got to humanize my wrinkled form But the boys are not impressed When my spaceship comes to orbit Just hold me like a girl I'll be the captain of the gravity, Maxwell I see your faces in the strangest places Hot one From the starship over Venus to the sun But it's a crime! You're mistaken! Momentary seizure of love Hot one From a starship over Venus to the Sun But it's a drag! You're so mean! Destroying my belief in, in love Oh, love
According to historical sources not connected to this movie Nancy and Sid threw allot of heroine and drug parties from their room at the Chelsea Hotel. At one party Sid passed out and when he woke up everyone was gone a huge amount of money was missing and Nancy was dead under the sink in the bathroom covered in blood. I'll buy into that more then this movie. Too bad this wasn't accurate cause Gary Oldman is a brilliant actor and was great in the role. It was almost like the director was trying to turn the Sid and Nancy relationship into two punk outlaws, when in reality they were just two people that society would never give a fair shot too no matter how hard they tried.
I think it's a combination of all of the theories. Sid stabbed Nancy during the fight after she egged him on, then took whatever drugs he had left and passed out on the bed. Nancy just let herself bleed to death, Drug Dealer walked on on this scene and just took the money and left them to die. Wouldn't surprise me if he thought Sid was already dead. It's hard to say whether Nancy would have fought him off or not in her current state, but she'd pick a fight with anyone considering her character. I do love how they filmed it, which isn't this long drawn out close up with dramatic music and exchanged looks. You barely even see the stabbing happen during the tussle, which is how usually these things go. You kind of have to ask yourself if she even was stabbed and you confirm it when you see all the blood 30 seconds later. It's possible that Nancy didn't even feel it until the crampy hungover from blood loss feeling and the burning from the cut set in.
My father was a music writer back in the seventies through the nineties. One of the stories he would tell me was while at a bar with his mate Kurt Lauder, who we know from MTV news, when Sid Vicious comes in belligerent. Obviously well intoxicated he begins falling over tables and chairs. They eventually moved him onto the street. The next day they find out he had killed his girlfriend Nancy the same night.
She was killed by a drug dealer most likely in self defense because they owed money and my guess is the drug dealer snuck in to take his money and Nancy fought him Someone was seen leaving the hotel in a hurry not long after the murder and when the police got to the scene the Money was missing Sid was out cold for nearly 2 days on all sorts of drugs and their friends who were in and out of the room said that he was so gone he couldn’t lift his arm to light his cigarette
Damn poor sid he was dope sick in that jail cell and probably his first experience since i dont think with the cash he was making that he would of ever ran out of heroin but those withdrawals are hell and o wouldnt wish them upon anyone they are trully painfull every sec feels like a minute of complete agony . I know this might sound wrong but in comparison i think sid suffered more pain from heroin withdrawals than nanncy felt with the knife
That Status Quo one was put in there because they were basically doing exactly what Bruce did in the very first episode when he had to help Phil introduce Quo. Hence the trick question line!
Amazing theater captured on film. These people are fantastic. The only thing I see here is that Gary Oldman, a man musical enough to play actual Beethoven piano sonatas himself during the filming of "Immortal Beloved" reeks of musical talent even when he plays the bass in this film. The real Sid struggled with that element of music. He was one hell of a punk front man but bass? meh...
