Hello. Your videos are amazing. If you need help in making more but have no time. I'm here to do anything I can. I don't have much skills, but maybe you wanna check how good I am or cam be . Stay safe
It feels fun and quite interactive to watch this video either as learning or reviewing material. So this is how they taught medicine in the US. ╰(*°▽°*)╯
I'm just finishing my COT course this week. I have my exam next week. Our instructor uses your lectures and videos and your book for pretty much everything. Thank you for keeping this topic soooooo enjoyable and not being overwhelming.
Doctor told me i have 4th nerve palsy And i tilt head and can't control it so taking a picture is hard for me Doulbe vision is bad He says i can get surgery to fix muscles Can surgery fix double vision and head tilt ?
I have this condition. I’ve spent hundreds of dollars going to different doctors to finally find out why I was having double vision when reading and would get worse the longer I tried to read. My background is that I have multiple sclerosis and had a flare up that I feel caused this condition. After seeing a neurologist and neuro ophthalmologist, I finally found an ophthalmologist that was able to see the subtle movement and diagnose the palsy. It is very subtle but extremely debilitating when reading. It’s been very frustrating because I feel like the doctors didn’t believe what I was describing and really just blew me off. I’m sharing this so that other doctors listen to their patients when they describe these symptoms.
'CCT is one parameter which influences the accuracy of most tonometers. In eyes with thin corneas IOP tends to be underestimated. Thinner CCT is associated with a higher risk of conversion of ocular hypertension (OHT) to glaucoma and a higher risk of glaucoma progression in multiple variable models. However there is no strong evidence that CCT is an independent risk factor. IOP correction algorithms based on CCT are not validated and should be avoided.' Wow ! Worked as an optometrist for the last 20 years. This is the best, simplest and most brilliant video of the magic by the slip lamp yet. Impressive ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐
So nice to see you uploading recently. I’m an ophtho fellow in the US and found you almost a decade ago as a student. Love to see you doing your own thing. Your personal story on your website was so good and comforting as a med student in a bustling major city at a competitive med school.. I was also depressed thru med school and unfortunately during residency and again in fellowship so I thought of you and read your personal life story again. It made me laugh and feel unalone. You and Glaucomflecken are my favorite Ophthos.
Thanks for commenting. Glad to hear you are doing well - life gets better once you get out of training! I am honored you took the time to read that bio story. :)
Has it really been 7 years? 😲 Your slit-lamp exam lecture is still one of my favourite videos haha, I pretty much show your channel to all the students I supervise (though mainly because of the tropias and nerve palsy lectures lol)
Yep, seven years! I had kids and my clinic practice got BUSY. Hopefully, I'll have some future eye videos coming up. In the meantime, this science-fiction passion project was on my bucket list of things to accomplish. Thanks for commenting!
Great to hear about future videos and congrats on the family! I was studying when I found your channel but am now fully qualified, I have occasionally been asked to lecture to student optometrists and I am always chasing your amazing delivery of information! One thing though that has always had me curious is that gag at the beginning of your slit lamp exam video - where you throw a doll in a pool and it sinks to arrive at a sunken slit lamp. Was that a broken instrument? Or a dummy? Always seemed like a very costly gag haha, would love to know the backstory!
That was an old broken slit-lamp microscope I found in the house I was renting (from a retired ophthalmologist). I tried cleaning it up, but he microscope was beyond repair -- so I sacrificed it to "the cause" and into the pool it went!
