My grandparents live off of route 542. Now just my grandmother. I remember as a little kid traveling up from Florida to visit every summer and seeing the trains switching this mine and the trucks waiting on 404 to get in. I also remember the big facility on up 404 in David. The one where all the pipes used to cross the road overhead. And how the railroad was always switching out cars.
I used to live next to this bridge when I was younger. I'm 20 now. I lived here when I was 3 to 6 I think, but I remember walking across it when I was younger and i always had a huge fascination with it. Always left weird feeling in my gut that this video brings back. I love this bridge and I miss the mid 2000s. Simpliar times for me. Better times.
It might be I-364 for Bert T. Combs Mountain Parkway in Kentucky, but I don't know. If I-364 do exist, then it will be the auxiliary route of I-64 which covers 90 miles from I-64 near Winchester (about 20 miles east of Lexington) to Prestonburg in Kentucky.
Back in 1949 I read that the carnival was set up on the location where the high school grounds are now. Muriel and her friends only had about a 4-5 block walk down to the bridge....where they parted company and Muriel headed back across the bridge by herself towards her parents home.
