Hey. Really cool video. Very informative as well. We just would like to add, for the community, that doing visuals for live concerts started with Thomas Wilfred and was bring to many bands for the first time by Glenn McKay and Joshua White. These days VJing is evoling a lot, but lets not forget our origins!
please make watchout videos, i am going to organize an event in a cathedral, I have visited few light shows and have been fascinated to introduce those elements to my events. Hence why collecting information from now for the November show. one silly question though, If i want to cover the whole inside surface of the cathedral then one projector is enough? but need to use a good software like watch out? Also what are the good quality reasonably priced projectors are there in the market for big shows like in a big shows and events?
thanks for your comment. here's my ans 1. i am watchout certified, i could make videos on watchout but my channel got too much attached to resolume despite ei want or not. maybe another channel for that lol 2. no silly question, its an imp one u asked. can you cover the whole area with one projector or not the answer lies with two factors. the area dimension you want to project, and the power for your projector. 3 yes decent priced projectors are good for certain dimensions. you can achieve bigger projection by using multiple of them. join my vj watsapp group for such question answers, full of creative ppl ike u and me: chat.whatsapp.com/FgHZ1hveWSBAsymEiXfiM6
I like the way you explain most of it but just a teeny tiny correction has to be made: The max value 255 doesn't come from binary, it comes from RGB values. When DMX channels were designed, it was easiest to give everything the same range of values. So where combinations of Red, Green, and Blue were already going to have ranges of 0-255, they also applied it to the movement of lighting fixtures (X, Y, Z). Binary, by contrast, uses powers of 2, (with the exception of 0/Null and 1). So binary counts up 0, 1, 2, 4, 8, 16, and so on. And it uses combinations of those numbers to make every other number. This is why, if you're counting your fingers normally, you can only get 5 from each hand. Because you're counting in Base 10. But if you use Base 2, you can count up to 31 on one hand, or 1,023 on both. Binary counts like: 1 2 2+1 4 4+1 4+2 4+2+1 8 And so on
Thank you for the video! I’m an visual artist and have been practicing MadMapper for a few days, the demo version. But it’s not letting me to save the project. Do you know any other softwares which will allow me to save the project? Excluding TouchDesign? TouchDesign is too complex!
Thanks for ur comment. Haha true abt touchdesigner, its a bit complicated, i also feel same. No, i don’t have any free alternatives that can achieve result like madmapper. I could suggest you millumin/vioso/resolume arena, but all are paid. In contrast, madmapper has rental scope, you can rent it for a month. The price seems pretty reasonable. I myself use the rented license when i have a project that requires MM. The highest spec available now, that you can afford. So the answer is already with urself, figure out your budget first, then list the features you need. Step three, research online stores/nearby shop. Simple :)
@@ZunayedSabbirAhmed Perfect for me it's easier since I don't speak English I speak Arabic and French I work in events I want your help and I pay of course
@@biskram20event51 ow man, i dont know either of Arabic of Frech to help u. but i can try to make it in simpler english, as english isn't my own language, my english is supposed to be easy for non native english speaker, haha. take care
thank you. english is not my first language. i learned it from local schools/universities in my country. please ignore if i sound un-english words. i can not apologize for not knowing a language.

you can use MI bar with any software that uses DMX/ArtNet. but if you want to have creative visual control over them, here are few: 1. madrix 2. resolume 3. madmapper 4. disguise
@@ZunayedSabbirAhmed do you know where I could talk to someone to get an inquiry as to what kind of projector I’ll need for a show. I know the distance is pretty important but fairly new to this
Yes you can buy video loops. There are many great vj loop market on the internet. You can try www.studio-z.ca if you want to buy visuals for family events. I can give u a discount promo
good day <3 very easy. do this- - Get an app that has NDI output from your camera (NDI camera, HX highly recommended) - connect your phone and computer to same wifi - make sure computer has NDI tools installed - run the app, enable NDI output - run resolume, go to sources, look for your phone's NDI name - drop it to clip box - have fun!
I use the Launchpad Mini MK3 along with the Launchcontrol XL and it's amazing for VJs! The lights are bright, you can change the colours, buttons feel great and the ability to customise the buttons to act as faders is sooo impressive. Novation makes solid products 👊🏽
Hello! thank you very much for your videos. I have a question. Do you know in which cases the "BLANK" and "FeedBack" video sources is used? Best regards from Mexico!
great question! blank is used to keep a clip holder occupied, not empty but it does nothing. you may ask why is that. it can help you if you're using auto pilot and you want 10 sec blackout between two clips. so you drop the blank, set the duration to 10s and put the layer autopilot on. i cant think of more reason right now lol but i am sure there are more. feedback generators are little complicated to answer here without showing anything. please search youtube for details vdos made on that topic.
Like your video! Just a comment, Vioso is camera calibration software that helps us minimise the time to calibrate complex setups such as Domes, panadomes, facades, 3d models and apart from that is great on colour calibration! Also, it is used as a plugin in all the big servers such as Pixera, Dataton, GreenHippo, Ioversal Vertex, etc but you cannot consider it as a playback/ compositing software
yes absoltely! you have to consider following - view "autopilot". from view>autopilot. this will show autopilot panel in your clips and layers/groups. - on the generators, go to "transport" and set the "duration" to your desired duration -then on "autopilot", change the "action" to your desired one, maybe next clip. -make sure to use "loop" number to set how many times you want the generator to loop (the duration above), before triggering the auto pilot :) wala! thanks for ur query. a hint ... or a leak ... ;) .... "autopilot" feature is about to revamp within next few updates. the whole autopilot thing is getting better soon!
