Have only recently discovered this fantastic circuit via WSS sim racing - got to say in real life it looks as dangerous as hell, but what a great track to sim race at! Amazing 😀
Yes, Chernobyl one was RBMK 1000 Ignalina was using RBMK 1500, its basically identical besides being a bit more powerful, but from structure and flaw its still same.
A beautiful plant which I'd love to visit at least once before it's completely gone, which I don't think I'll be able to do. Weird that I didn't see Beata in this video, the famous tour guide :) But there is an another group of beautiful people!

OK,after Chernobyl HBO - we ALL became "nuclear scientists" who knows ,in details,WHAT and HOW it was,were,all the problems,fault's,history,huclear decay,isotopes...come on peaople-remebmer what you knew BEFORE HBO Chernoby and what AFTER the show,now everyone is a nuclear eingeneir",yeah right....."positive void coeficient-negative V.C.,xenon poisoning,grapfite tip borone rods,etc,etc.......before the HBO Chernobyl,all we knew was the exident and many assumpions,but AFTER HBO released it,...it make's me laugh how everyone now knows,everything about it...even the people who work there,or have worked ,say that they learn everyday something new,but ,you alll,are sooo smart now,probably know better that controlers in npp how it operates.....omg
As amazing as these reactors are they are also horrible things capable of inflicting the worst kind of human suffering. They leave behind enormous problems at the end of their life and leave future generations decades of arduous clean up work.
RBMK 1500 is just more powerful compared to 1000, but everything else is the same, how it looks, operates, even if it has the same flaw which made Chernobyl to explode because graphite tips on rods.
