I don't winterize anything in particular but I try to control moisture regardless of the time of year, my safes have desiccant packs that are regularly replaced and if any gun is ever out in less than ideal conditions they get thoroughly dried (remove stock to be sure you got all the water) and oiled if needed. as for cleaning, I usually only do it if something is obviously in need of it (obvious dirt, weird accuracy issues.. things like that), however, if I take a gun apart for any reason I'll always do a deep clean and re-lube anything that needs it... One of the awesome things about airguns is that they require much less maintenance than firearms do :)
You wanna shoot a springer that wallops you in recoil, try a GAMO Big Cat!!! OMG I hate shooting mine. It rips .177 pellets way faster than they wanna fly. It lives in my closet and never gets shot lol.
Its not tuned well for lower power, if you swap out the hammer spring and open up the transfer port to 4.5mm if its not already you can get 300 shots per fill as you can achieve the same fps at a lower reg pressure.
@BC_BALLISTICS on the other hand, the 30 looks more as a rifle, since there's no underlever. Think the 97 is a bit more accurate, but if we've talking looks they're sure at the same standard!
The best springer out there is the .177 version-you should definitely try it out! Due to the low power of the HW30s lighter weight pellets made from softer lead perform better(JSB,AA etc).
i've been thinking about getting a .177 as well, the reason I went with the .22 hw30s originally was that here in Canada the .177 cal hw30s is considered a firearm while the .22 is not and I wanted the gun to have a little more flexibility for me than something more strictly regulated.
@@ozkan1001 I doubt it, it may be a good pistol to see whether you enjoy 10 meter pistol shooting due to its low price... however it lacks a lot of the refinement and adjustability that you'll find in a more professional target pistol, unfortunately
@@matty5547 It sounds like you've had a bad experience with them, unfortunatelythat can happen with any brand... other than the tormenta leaking where the rear bottle meets to the breach I've had nothing but stellar experiences so far :)
I got mine from Canada Shooting supplies also and I must say it is a very impressive air pistol. It shoots as well as my Weihrauch HW44. It is a bit loud in .22 though.
Canada is a great place! But I don’t know man? I will definitely be watching more of your airgun content. BC is gorgeous! I like to shoot Airguns man. Super fun.
This comment is not a respectful one. It’s a very respectful one! It’s ok we all have those days. Long range with an air pistol, is cool! Just remember, shorter the barrel, less the range. With handgun’s(firearms) the same. Sight in max, 10 yrds. For defense. 30 yrds to make yourself a great pistol shot. But I will never be perfect. Nice video man! Airguns are %100 precision shooters! We as “ people who shoot at targets, or hunt. We know the difference between self defense, and fun! It’s a lifestyle in the USA. I got you man! I just subscribed!
I heard that this product has been discontinued, anybody know why? I thought it was because of the airforce patent, but reading at the comments here, discontinued reason is not this. 🤔
Have you looked into the legal limitations of where you can shoot them as well? Coming from someone who doesn't have a proper backyard to shoot my Reximex RPA...
@@Unlikelyentropy that's a great question, unfortunately that can be a bit tricky as most cities have bylaws that prevent airgun discharge within city limits. So a couple things you can try is look up local gun ranges to see if there are any that have airgun clubs/groups operating within them, or see if there are any local dedicated air pistol clubs in your area, they may have drop in nights or something. You can also look up local forest service roads to see if there are any good spots you can drive to or hike to outside of city limits. If you look up that sort of thing online most areas will have a reddit thread or something where people have all ready discussed popular spots close by. Those are the things I'd try first, you could also try connecting with people in your area on the Canadian airgun forum, someone on there may be able to provide some help. I hope some of that is useful :)
@@northballistics I contacted the local range and for insurance purposes, they can only accept membership from people with PALs. I did go for my first session on crown land today, and there were other people there already, shooting .223. Turns out it's a very well known spot with massive natural backstops for safe shooting. I think I'll be good there until my PAL comes in and I can get an Airacuda Max .22!
Do you have targets available with the face of Trudeau on them?....I have a New Reximex Walnut in .177. The rear sight can only adjust for windage! The Foresight is "Supposed" to be adjusatable; but the grub-screw are so short. I,ve gone to adjusting my point of aim after a few shots!. The "Iron Sights" really must be fixed! I admire this little gun however!...LA5 Warton UK
@@Furkidd i shoot it on a semi-regular basis... probably put 1000 pellets through it so far and I haven't had a single problem yet. It's a cool gun :) I wish I had more free time to shoot it though.
Got one in .22, I shoot it sitting or standing, iron sights...hate the scopes on pistols! I also have a PP750 and a PP800R; when I got setup my range in the sticks I usually bring a coresponding caliber rifle
Guess the sub 500fps is even less than the English sub 12? 400 shots is just awesome! I got 50m at home, I feel no need to go and shoot somewhere else. I don't need much power, but most of my ,22 seem to be most accurate at about 35-40J (about 30FPE). The FX's have a pretty descent shotcount (+200 easily), but for instance my BSA R10 barely makes it to 40. Not in search for power, but accuracy. Wonder how a sub 500fps does at 50m?
often times yes, sub500 is less power than sub12, definitely in 177 and 22, however, sub500 25 cal often shoots around 14-foot pounds, and you can occasionally find sub 500fps .30 and .35 cal guns for sale and those are way over 12 foot pounds lol, I haven't shot one of those yet though so I can't really comment on them ...this particular gun is shooting at just about 11.5 foot-pounds on a full charge, so it is effectively a sub12 gun by accident lol. i'm excited to see how it performs once I regulate it! in my experience, the sub 500fps guns have a maximum range of 30m if good accuracy is the goal. you can definitely push them further but I don't think it is worth it, in fact, I primarily shoot sub500 at 20m, and if I want to shoot longer range I use a full power gun. your guys system is superior to ours, it would be nice to have sub12 177 and 22 cal guns without using a firearm license, more power isn't everything, but a little more oomph in those calibers would be nice :)
`sup! CSS updated the Throne pics on their website :) I dont know enough on regs to offer a constructive comment (it`ll come in time) but I`ve read on forums that 120ish is a good place to start (even though I find it low since its mighty close to the dreaded 100 mark) but from my limited exp with my cheap chai0nese chronograph from 200 to shy of the 100 mark is the most consistent. Your setup right there seems good enough for the girls we date! Say, if you own a few chronographs, how about a vid? I have a shoot-through type that I dont really like, eyeing a FX or one of them tubular ones
hahaha i say "good enough for the girls we know" all the time... I'm not sure my wife likes that saying though lol as for regulators, nothing surprises me, I've seen lots of guns shoot perfectly fine at 100 bar and lots that can't shoot at all at 100, there are so many other factors. i only have the Caldwell chrony, and even though it works fine, it does have many draw backs. I've been thinking about upgrading to an fx one for a while... they're pretty much the best there is anywhere close to that price.
Even if they were legal good luck explaining that to a police officer! You will definitely get arrested and have to fight in court its absolutely not worth it especially on a air rifle thats already quiet
@@BC_BALLISTICS oh maybe they are,I just looked at this pistol and it was 5.8lbs that makes sense. I’ve only ever bought rifles so didn’t know about pistols. I can get this for £399 I might buy one. Just the pump for it is £169
@@BC_BALLISTICS yeah I’d just get the pump. But I’d rather a pcp than a co2 gun. I’m gonna see some rifles too just your video is the 3rd time this pistol has popped up and all the reviews have been good
I have a jumbo dazzle in .25 and a Mortal X in .22; which reg did you get? Its obviously an adjustable internal replacement and I wonder if one with a gauge would be feasible, at least on the dazzle (removeable bottle)
this gun isn't regulated yet, I'm just putting it through its paces before I regulate it so that I can gauge where to set the reg pressure and what difference it makes from stock as far as consistency and shot count. the reg I have for it is a Huma-air bottle reg and it does have a gauge on it :)
@@quebecpatriot1874 nope, it's the standard length barrel, however the shroud has been shortened to remove the built-in sound moderation to fit canadas laws.
@@BC_BALLISTICS so the picture on the CSS website is not actually what you are buying...interesting (I`ve seen the sound moderation thing, its an internal air stripper with foam loosely wrapped around it...lame)
@@quebecpatriot1874 unfortunately whoever told you that needs a to do a little more research before theyre qualified to be educating anyone on our firearm laws. There are many legal bullpups in canada, from airguns to firearms (the FX Impact and iwi tavor x95 to name very 2 popular guns)... there are however a few rules they have to follow in order to be allowed, the main one I believe is that the gun can not be able to function outside of its stock, and i believethat bullpup conversion kits of any kind are banned... don't ask me why lol our laws don't make any sense. Lots of cool bullpups available in canada though :)
4:57 you have the scope mnounted on the 11mm part of the rail. The 20mm picatinny rail is below that. its a 2 in one design. You can see the space available in your scope rings to drop down to the next rail.
yes, as mentioned in the video, i prefer to use the dovetail portion on these Kral/ Reximex rails. The lower "picatinny" portion is not cut to standard picatinny sizing and often varies from one model to the next. occasionally it is spot on picatinny, but often if is closer to weaver. it is easier to just default to using dovetail rings on these guns, at least in my opinion.
thank you, i appreciate that! as it stands, there is nothing more the doctors can do, I'm just supposed to make good choices and hope it corrects itself over time :)
@@fliesarenegade thank you :) hahaha can't get better without failing... that's what I keep telling myself anyway. The RPA is fantastic! I'm thinking about getting a second one in .22
