I remember when I was a kid at primary school (better part of 40 years ago) a harrier jump jet made an emergency landing on our sports field. Best school day of my life.
@@MATTFL380 dictatorship?? Many in France, Italy Spain etc would prob LOVE seen same kickasa display of US airpower (in this csse elite US Army attack helicopters flown by US Army pilots, or ideally USMC helicopters). Glad the UK was able to see & appreciate that unusual event. Soon itll be other neighboring nations (i hope). More & newer machines/models needed as well to augment Apaches.
@@fredcollins8919 Given that USMC doesn't fly the Apache and that it doesn't say "United States Army" on the tail boom, this is likely one of the UK's 67 AH1 Apaches.
@@argiopeweb I agree. No worries, next time chances are itll prob be a US Army Apache (or Lord forbid the Dutch Apache version). US Marine pilots are still top notch & can fly anything wih pride passion perfection & determination with devastating results (on enemy forces) which literally speak for themselves. Long story, sir. Speaking of Marine pilits, they seem quite happy still with their ultra deadly & highly upgraded USMC-only USMC AH1Z Super Cobras/Vipers (truly outstanding, beautiful super machines which the US Army would be very Wise to purchase in order to effectively augment (& not replace) its newer Apache fleet while USMC would be wise in adopting some of the Army's UH60 Blackhawks for Infantry troop transport & Gunships & Medevacs. It would all balance itself nicely in the end., imo
@@JanitorIsBack well I was told that the Kiowa has better Optics in the Longbow does and in tandem can be a lethal team for not only the ah-64 Longboat but for every other aircraft in that area that's carrying laser-guided bomb that's why I said it dumbass
The last OH-58s were retired in July 2020 and those were used for training helicopter pilots. The last time they did anything combat related was in 2017. Not bad for a helo the US Army took into service in 1969.
Yeah this is the UK and I can't believe they would allow a fully armed, combat ready attack helicopter to land in a school football pitch, not something we do over here. The funny thing is the kid was filming it with his phone and they were watching through the gun cam as they came in,lol
I’d like an Apache attack helicopter. If I had one I’d fly it to my old school. First I’d take out the labs and then I’d type into the attack computer “Mr Cragg, chemistry teacher.” Blow ‘im to bits. And then I’d go looking for Tom Donaldson. I’d be hovering just down the road from his house, there. And he’d see us, but I’d duck down behind the trees, and he thinks he’s safe right? And he’s just about to put the key in his front door, and I come up from behind the hedge - “HELLO YER BASTARD!” - He panics, right? And he goes in the house, so I get the 30 millimetre canon and I take out the fish pond, Koi carp in there a couple of rounds each, right? And then I just tilt the helicopter over to one side and the machine gun bullets is chewing up the drive, right? He comes out. “Oh no! Not me Triumph Stag! I’ve just had it resprayed!” I cut it in half, right? And then he goes “Ahhh!” He runs up onto the garage roof. I say “Right. This is for you, Tom.” He goes, “No, no!” He’s begging us, he’s begging us man, “No, please don’t!” BOOM!! And then I fly off to Cornwall and I just smash in the sea in a big ball of flames.
i guess after brad manning showed the world that the apache was being used to murder children, the military decided it needed to do a bunch of public displays to keep americans feeling good about it.
