This channel is all about adventure, enduro, and Dual-Sport motorcycles and the people, places, rides, and products that relate to them. We will embark on the journey together.
My name is Paul and motorcycles have been my love in life. From about the time I could walk Dad would take me for rides on his Goldwing. Through the years I have had a passion for anything on two wheels. I even spent a few years road racing Superbikes! As time has gone on and my riding disciplines have become broadened I have now jumped into the world of adventure bikes with both feet!
Come join me as I jump into a whole new world of riding experiences!
Wise application sir, well done. I’ve done the MotoZ GPS on the rear and the MotoZ Dual Venture tubeless front tire on my Norden 901 for the very same reason as you 👍 Many need to be aware of this thought process 😉
You can remove some stitching from the removable piece. Enough to get a clamp through or at least the wires. The removable piece then fits perfectly. Once the stitching is removed you need to re stitch the ends which remain to secure the remaining stitches.
Mixed results with the 'one shot' adhesive pads which despite the quality of the adhesive pad still has limited adhesion. An attempt to remount involves sourcing suitable double sided tape and cleaning all the old tape adhesive off both the helmet and the mounting bracket. My last attempt involved warming the bracket to make it match the contour of the helmet better and sticking a thin piece of plastic on the lower part to pack out the gap between the bottom rubber trim and the bracket and then fit the adhesive tape to that which gave about 25% more adhesion surface and secured the bottom of the mount to the helmet better. The bracket is vulnerable to knocks which can weaken the adhesion. To be fair that lasted but the foam collar was never fully secure due to passing the wires behind it preventing it fitting quite as it should. My final solution is to actually remove a portion of stitching where the clamp is positioned. Restitch either end of the unstitched area to stop it all coming undone. This allows the clamp and wires to go through the collar and for it to fit as it should.
I got the same problem with the rear tire it crack mid travel in Mexico but endure the rest of the adventure of course I did not trusted and regulated my speed got in contact whit dealer and they decide to exchange once my trip ended really cool got a new tire, but I don't trust it will last.
Do you need a subscription to just use the gps functions? When your phone is in flight mode can you use all gps apps on your phone? E.g. does google maps know where you are if you have the map downloaded?
Garmin has its own map app for your phone. Google maps doesn’t play a roll with this thing. I turn off the subscription during the winter and the maps still work for me. I believe the only two things that won’t work without the subscription is the SOS and text features.
My front tire is a Tractionator GPS, after 11,000 km it is hardly worn! however, my rear tire, like yours cracked about a third of the way into my trip of 11,000 KM. I never lost air or had reduced performance. In fact I am still running those same tires. I am trying to see how far I can get on the set. I think the cracking is just on the outer rubber, when you look at a tire the outer tread is vulcanized onto the carcass ( I think, as tires can be retreaded?) I do not believe the actual carcass of the tire is compromised. I very much like these tires and will keep using them, and when the time comes I will install another set.
Honestly I ride alone most of the time so I have never used goggles with this helmet. On the occasion that I am following someone in the dust I have just flipped the screen down.
Just got the same exact combo for my bike but I’m coming from the factory set. Being this my first time with this kind of tires they feel a little weird, like riding on jello ... Is that normal ? Thank you
I dont know what your "Retail" laws are there... but in NZ the fault lays with the outlet in the 1st instance... thats WHAT makes them ...Dealerships & WHY the get a retail markup... its then for THEM... to claim back from THEIR supplier whether thats an importer/distributor or direct from the factory... your claim is against the retailer... THEY sold you a defective product
These are my only riding boots. I ride enduro and lots of single track on my 500 with them. They’re a bit on the soft side for that kind of riding. That said, I have never had any issues with them in any kind of riding. I’m still wearing the same today that I made this video with a few years ago. I love these boots. If you can afford to have a couple pairs of boots then I would recommend something a little stiffer for the enduro, but if you need a good all around I definitely recommend these. I wear mine for adventure riding on my big bike and technical riding on my 500. They’re waterproof and gives all day comfort regardless of riding type. I’ve even taken a few short hikes in them and they were comfortable for that also.
@@LIVEFORMOTO nice man.. that's exactly the information I was looking for. Thank you for the reply. The waterproofing along with the protection and price point seems pretty hard to beat.
Damn, that’s a pity 🙁 Iwe seen the front wear like that on some bikes. But never a rear with that amount of cracks going on. Haven’t tested the GPS, got the RallZ on my T7 and it’s awesome. I think the pressure is a very big factor, especially on the heavy pigged 1250. I loved the Anakee Wilds, seen some 1250 owners when them being satisfied, but they won’t last long.
My partner has this bike, tried to get on it Sunday for my first ride pillion, couldn't get on the thing 😂 there must be a nack to it, it was fully loaded. I Need a step ladder 😂 🤣
Hi. I tried on the E1 and I felt that the flip up comes down quite easily when you're moving your head. What's your experience with the flip up holding in open position?
I met a gentleman about a month ago that was having the same problem. I have not had that problem with mine. I have not met anyone besides him that has had that problem. It’s been a great helmet for me and almost every one I know that has one.
I use the clamp, there's a gap that you can slip the clamp inside helmet shell. Located a little back further, fit nicely and steady. Reduce the wind noise and drag. The mic will be shorter thou, but works fine even for voice command.
Well done! I appreciate that you found this topic worthy of thoughtful and contemplative discourse. I hope many more find it, watch and find the spark worthy of fanning into flames of wordless adventure.
Inhave used many different tires on the front. At the moment I have the Motoz GPS on the front. I ised TKC 80 also. The best one on sand and gravel I used was heidenhau. Very stable.
Hi DLM. What Heidenhau tire did you use for the front? I live in the desert so I am looking for decent traction. What are you running right now? Thanks!
I have the same bike and same tyre combo, fitted yesterday. Feels good to me so far, coming from motoz adventure rear severely cracked and worn down with no failures, awesome off road, unsteady on pavement. Kept same adv front and went new gps rear. Should be better for long trips, not too worried about the cracks if they appear, the old tyre did it but didn’t leak air
They do pretty good for semi knobby bias-ply tire. However, everyone has a different idea of what pushing a bike in the twisties means. If you’re a former or current road racer or even a track day rider and know how to push a tire then I definitely don’t recommend them. However if you’re just out lean the bike over a little and have some fun then they’ll do great. The GS is a big heavy bike and tends to be heavier on the front unless loaded for a trip, this tends to push a 50/50 tire to its limit pretty quickly if you are an aggressive experienced rider. If you are then look at a Dunlop radial tire instead. If you just want a little fun on the pavement with nothing too aggressive, I think these will be great and still handle decent off road. I hope this helps. Ride with a smile!👍🏻
I’m hoping that Motoz has improved the compound, choose them over the heidenau k60s for cold and wet traction improvements. Going to be running these on my sidecar build.
