In 2015, I had proton beam therapy for a very rare eye cancer. I had four treatments and each session was only 60 seconds long. It is a bit intimidating but I had zero side effects other than my eye had a little of redness and discharge for a couple of weeks afterward. I was fortunate that my tumor was far enough away from the optic nerve that I did not lose sight in that eye. Most people do. I had my treatments at UC Davis (the campus, not the hospital). I’m so happy for Jeff, and the prognosis of cautious optimism is wonderful! ❤️
