Embellishment on Skinner if the interference is called on Bennett perhaps? Stu went down kind of easy I think. Love the show fellas-been following the blog via twitter for years. Enjoy game 7!
If you read the kneeing rule, it requires intentional extension of the knee outward for the purpose of making contact or attempting to do so. It is a 2min minor. It rises to a major if the player recklessly endangers an opponent as a result of kneeing. This implies intent. Foegle was pursuing the puck with his stick when he collided knee to thigh/hip of the opponent. At full speed it looks accidental and it looks like Foegle was puck focused. In slow mo it looks like he puts his hip into the hit at the last moment. I can understand why the refs chose major however I don’t think there was reckless intent. Tough to call and the refs have time pressure. Probably should have been a minor.
What a joke. If a referee cannot do his job on the big stage better than that, and actually call a game the right way, then they should be fired or banned from ever refereeing a big game like that ever again. That is disgraceful. I've seen players do worse than that to the Leafs with NO CALL what so ever. Total crap. The NHL is a joke.
I really don't understand it. What's it gonna take for him to be gone? Kill somebody? I can't believe there are still non-combat sports where you can swing your stick, club, bat etc like a weapon at someone's face and still be allowed to play. What is going on with the NHL? This is way beyond a bad joke at this point.
TRANSLATION: - THEY DON'T WAVE THEIR FISTS AFTER A FIGHT! THERE IS SUCH A SAYING IN RUSSIA! WELL, IF YOU UNDERSTAND, OF COURSE..!!!~
Not in the offensive zone. What's there to argue. Beautiful play, beat Bob cleanly to.....which made it that much sweeter. Two very evenly matched teams that play great hockey. Let's go Rangers!!!
Apparently a Panther fan posted this. But they're not going to say about the phantom interference call on Goody which gave the Panthers a power play which tied the game.
Ferraro is a clown.. it wasnt because it wasnt high stick because it was in the Nuetral zone... HE NEVER TOUCHED THE PUCK WITH HIS STICK ABOVE THE SHOULDERS.... Enlarge the Screen and look closely ... Still sour grapes for being shipped out 21 gms into a season Ray ?
All the national broadcasts have been anti Rangers in their tone. Anything good they do, there’s always an excuse for it. And they’re so quick to highlight the lack of shots but refuse to acknowledge the system they play in. It’ll always be Rangers vs the world. LFGR!!
What does the neutral zone have do with it? Rule 80 doesn’t mention anything about the zone. It was not reviewable. That’s the reason. Curious though, if you find a source mentioning the zone, would like to read it.
@@Lets_Go_Canes 38.2 talks about coaching challenges and how they can only challenge a “missed game stoppage event” if the supposed infraction occurred in the offensive zone.
Looked to me while watching the game that contact happened just below shoulders. It was a heck of a snipe that went in. I felt like, despite the shots, Panthers played a better game. Both teams have goalies that are just absolutely standing on their heads.
I would love to see high res photo of the second Goodrow touched the puck. I've watched it over and over and it seems his stick started high, but he came down to make contact, but I could be wrong. It shouldn't be that hard to get that image grab.
@@DTT420 Right. Doesn't matter where his skates are. Hard to tell - conclusively - the precise moment the stick contacts the puck and where on the stick the contact happens. It's extremely close, even at that 0:19-0:20 mark (point of contact appears to be right when the announcer says "here")
The rules have changed so much since I stopped watching regular season (Rangers knocked out of playoffs by shootout loss in last game of season) but Ray Ferraro seem to imply that it was okay because Goodrow was on his side of the blueline. I do not have a clue if it was good or bad. Just wondering what the rule actually is.
Doesn't really matter. This isn't the same as an offsides challenge or him whacking it out of the air and into the net. If it was, then finding the exact height matters and we could play the game of inches and use super slowmo try to pinpoint it. It was in the neutral zone, it was the refs call on the fly and it was too close to be certain to blow it dead, so he didn't. Whether it was 2 inches too high or low is irrelevant. It's a good goal, no one got screwed here and not worth fretting over the replay.
@@DTT420real hockey….you mean the Rangers outshot, outchanced, out possessed, out hit, out face-offed, and out blocked the Panthers….that kind of real hockey?
Eh as a panthers fan I’m more annoyed by the high stick that hit forsling in the face on their first goal. But there’s plenty of other reasons why we lost. Top line especially Reinhardt and tarasenko haven’t been scoring is a big one. Have to score more than 1 pp goal to beat the rangers. I’m not a bruins fan so I’m not going to cry about the refs, panthers need to play better
technically the goal that lead to the pp goal for florida was a terrible call, goodrow didnt even touch him, but i agree officiating needs to get consistent , thats the major issue i have with officiating this post season.
the high stick on forsling was the result of trocheck shooting the puck across the ice for a pass and since it was the result of a follow through it’s not a high sticking penalty
This counted but Marchment a goal in game 6 vs colorado didn’t. There needs to be a league wide officiating evaluation. This is the stanley cup playoffs, this is absolutely pathetic
While it is true that Bennett pushed Coyle into Coyles goalie, since Coyle was standing over his own goalie who was not able to even see where the puck was let alone trap the puck, the goalie was unable to do his job based on interference from his teammate, Coyle. Got it ?
Habs fan here. I don't think they should call the crosscheck in that situation, as it was a bit light. But, it was a blown call. Swayman couldn't have a play on the puck. Should have simply been disallowed. This said, it's unclear Swayman stops that puck. And Florida was the better team. I personally don't believe in blaming refs. You play through adversity and make your puck luck. Human error is a part of the game, just like giveaways or shots that miss the net.
Oh yeah. there is a huge issue with the referees not knowing the rules, or knowing the rules and selectively applying them, depending on who the NHL wants to win that night. Dec 12, 2023 the STars played Nashville. Roman Josi shot the puck into the scoreboard. No Call. It shoud've been 2 minutes for Delay of Game. The reason why all those Delay of Game penalties were added was because players were shooting the puck over the glass, or at the scoreboard to get a stoppage in play because they were tired and wanted a line change. Chris Chelios made a career of it. So, Nashville got away with one there, because either the refs didnt know the rules, or didnt want to put Dallas on the Power Play. Later, in the same game, the same player, Roman Josi, gloved the puck in his own crease and threw the puck to the halfboards. Gloving the puck in the crease results most often in a Penalty Shot being awarded to the opposing team, or, on rare occasion, a two minute minor and power play. There was no call. So, again, either the referees did not know the rule or chose not to enforce it because they were trying to help Nashville win. This is called Fixing. Later still, in the same game, the Stars scored I think it was 3 goals in the last two minutes, with the second one coming with 13 seconds remaining to tie the game and then they scored again with 2 seconds remaining, which apparently was an NHL record. The Refs really tried to hand that game to Nashville, but the Stars refused to let them and it was hilarious to watch. They tried to screw the Stars in OT aganst the Avs and the Stars won anyway. (Today, Game 6 Round 2) That mustve made somebody really mad because they lost gambling money from not having a game 7. The word you guys are looking for is "Fixed" or perhaps "Rigged" when the calls, or non-calls, goals are allowed or disallowed depending on who scores it and whether or not the NHL wants that team to win that night. You can take identicle plays - one is a allowed goal and one is not. Observe with your eyes and ignore the commentators because they're biased as hell. Theyre on the NHL payroll.. Go figure. They really really really wanted Nathan McKinnon and the Avs to win. The penis worship was annoying as hell. The favoritism was obvious with every comment.
Well its obvious that the NHL wants Florida to win. The only question is will that continue in the ECF? Florida got away with a lot of trashy play in both of their series.
