In Nov 2009 bemuzic bought two Cigar Box Guitars from eBay. Since then she has acquired quite a collection of home made instruments, most of which she built herself. When not writing songs, recording, or building guitars she enjoys playing her songs on the streets of Cambridge and surrounding towns.
@bemuzic I have been watching quite a few of your older videos I don't expect you to reply to them but it's has been great to watch your progression through the years with your guitars and amps and songs you definitely have music in your bones. Cheers
Oooh, that's a while ago. Think I was making a cigar box amp, and before putting in the box, thought I try this. I just put a plastic bag in the speaker...think I put two actually! then played. Fun!! It was a battery powered amp. Perhaps not a great idea to do it with mains power!
I used a black cloth as a backdrop, then filled the glass with a disgusting blue drink (some kind of energy drink) Glad I got it on the second take, as couldn't face drinking it again, lol! In my video software I took away the blue to reveal the video of daisies
I noticed in one of your other videos that you are using the Boss RC-20. Are you still using the same unit? You've learned to use it quite well. How cool to be able to make your music come alive right before our eyes. I loved your drum tin & xylophone additions. So cute =)
Hello there! Aloha from Hawaii. That was so lovely, I really quite enjoyed your songs. Are they all your originals? I particularly loved the first one with the xylophone. It really made my day, so I ran & got my xylophone to play along with you & then I grabbed my bass & guitar to jam as well. I actually went to Cambridgeshire England in 2014, and spent the majority of my time in at the Ely Cathedral singing with the Hawaii Sacred Choir. I am a Songwriter/ Singer as well & I see that you've made many of your instruments, which delights me, because I love to build things also. However, I haven't made a Canjo or Cigar Box Guitar yet, but I'm trying to learn about it & decide if I should just buy one fully made, or if I should try to make it. I'm pretty handy, but I can see that buying all the supplies can be costly for the first one. Would love to meet up via Video chat to visit & possibly write a song together. If you're into collaborations, let me know. I'd love to meet a new friend from across the globe. Blessings & kindness to you & your dear family, jAckie from Hawaii =)
Hi, and thanks. Yes, all my own songs. Lovely to think of someone in hawaii jamming along! Oh yes Ely is beautiful, I busk near the catherdral sometimes. There is a lot of info on buildingCigar Box Guitars here, and the people are very friendly and helpful www.cigarboxnation.com/ I'm up for collaborating in theory, but don't think I have time atm...Good luck if you build a CBG :-)
I love it!. Definitely a keeper!. I play CGB with my Voicelive3 by TC Helicon. You might wanna give it a try. It works with 3 layers. It’s got all the harmony stuff plus vocal to on the vocal layer. A second layer for very decent guitar effects and a third layer for a competent looper. All in one unit. Btw I love your stuff, keep it up!.
