Florence Warner, a singer whose voice became synonymous with some of the most recognizable television commercial campaigns of the 1970s and 1980s, died at her home in San Francisco on Sept. 19. She was 77.
I understand that WBAL-TV, channel 11, is the NBC affiliate for Baltimore now and was prior to the 1980s, but NBC went back to WBAL-TV before CBS took over Westinghouse station WJZ-TV, channel 13 (Oprah Winfrey's 1-time employer), moving ABC to channel 2, so WMAR-TV has been affiliated with all "Big 3" networks.
My son was a photojournalist in another chopper for another TV station when this occurred. He never recovered from witnessing the death of his friends.
