Thank you for sharing your experience. My daughter is considering doing the Disney College Program, probably her final year at Appalachian State. Thanks to your video I can give some informed advice. Two things - 1) Don’t work in the film industry! This isn’t a slight against you but if 10 hour days 3 days in a row is too much you’d be miserable in film. 2) I appreciate your subtitles to help with the context of your tale. I’m not sure 🤔 if this is a generational thing (because it’s a very prevalent thing in RU-vid videos) but they should be up long enough to read. The rule of thumb in circa 1980s film class was to be able to read it three times. If I’m watching your video, I care enough to know what your thoughts are but if I have to pause… jockey ham handily on my phone to catch your thoughts my interest wains. Sorry if this is coming across as a lecture, it’s not meant to be. I think I more keen to know why RU-vidrs do this; so please explain so that I can be hip - if that’s possible. My daughter would say no. Thanks again for shedding light on the inner culture of the CP at the expense of your privacy.

@@KaylynLWilson I’m not sure if this carries currency but I have subscribed and will share with my daughter (as the subject is more in line with her age and life). I can appreciate the stylistic approach as there is a risk of holding them too long and that would appear “boomer” (I’m Gen X by the way) or amateurish. Fast past or even jump cuts (a nod to Jean-Luc Godard) are seemingly the in thing but I think there is a healthy compromise somewhere. Don’t stifle your creativity or style - I can’t wait to be dazzled by your next iteration. Good luck at Disney and your new college/university choice.

@@anthpalad hi there!! Thanks so much for reaching out❤️ first let me say, I am so sorry you got that position😂😭 ironic actually. But that being said, I’d still urge you it’s worth all of the sometimes misery at work for the experience otherwise! Biggest tip: find your people. It took me 2 months but I finally found a group at work that makes commiserating fun. Second, learn how to work the system and give away shifts so you can either pick up other locations or have less of the crazy hours they give you. It’s gonna be a trip but now being on the other side of where you are now, I’d say I’m grateful for the whole program, warts and all. Let me know if you have any other questions!! That definitely helps calm my nerves funny enough knowing that there are still positives to find even in the not so best of circumstances. I do have a few more questions if you don’t me asking. What does a normal work week look like in the role (length of shifts and days off)? I know that we can work 10 days in a row with the possibility of 12 hr days, but how common does that occur? Also I know you’ve discussed a mass termination of college programmers from your location, would you be allowed to say what they did so I don’t make the same mistake when I get down there?
@@anthpalad sorry for the delay! The crazy hours are really sporadic, I’d say they are more common at the start of your program and around holidays or big company after hours events! It’s hard to give a specific idea! Some weeks I only get 6 hour shifts and others it’s consecutive 10 hours. You do get 2 days off every week but they are not always put together. The mass termination was for sweethearting, meaning giving away free food to coworkers who were playing in the park, off the clock. Let me know if you have any more questions, hope that helps!

It’s easy to find drama here, sorry you got caught in it. Tbh guys here are like irl. The good ones are off doing their own thing while the other ones are setting a bad example by messing around. I once knew a guy who slept with maybe 50 girls while on the cp. I assure you most guys aren’t like that here

I don’t wanna divulge too much info but sweethearting! Meaning, giving away free food to friends who are off the clock! The line is really blurry though because cast are encouraged to do “magic moments” and give away free food to guests! But don’t worry!! They are more strict on CPs but as long as you communicate and stay kind to your leaders, all will be ok!
im a former dcp coming back soon in late June, don't give up they can give you another opportunity that isn't fast food but also follow what you think is right

dcp was a huge fixation of mine during 2020 that i used to watch through like every single dcp vloggers stuff and like join facebook groups and discords to talk about it with other people. literally forgot about it for years but this showing up in my reccomended brought back like one million memories for me

The spiders are definitely out to get us. Once I screamed and jumped so loud because of an unexpected spider that my mum screamed, jumped away, then fell to the floor- hitting her head on a radiator on the way down! The look on the A&E Dr's face when we explained how it was the spider's fault that she might need stitches on her forehead! So glad you are home - hope you have some restful restorative sleep ❤
