Thank you for this video. It was to the point and I could clearly hear and understand what you were saying, a rarity on instructual videos these days. My MacBook Pro is from 2015 and I’m trying to download different apps and they’re saying I need to update my os system but I’m thinking about just getting a new one and wanted to see how complicated transferring data is. Looks like it’s pretty simple. It’s been 7 months since you posted this. Is it still working good for you?
Instead of the list of display I receive this message that No DisplayLink-enabled display detected! I also tried different versions of DisplayLink as well as Mac OS 13 & 14! I have two Dell monitors each of them connects to Mac independently!
Unfortunately, I made a mistake with the purchase. I thought there would be a 4K result, but I only get 1080p. Be careful and don't make the same mistake I did.
Thanks for your tip. You saved my life, I had a docking station that I had tried to connect to my Macbook before and It hadn't worked, so I was desperate working with that tiny screen. But I followed your steps and it worked. Thank you very much :)
this computer is fool's gold - operations are shoddy & keyboard is bad & so is touchpad & monitor issues are NEVER ending, no thanks for anyone who needs daily dual monitor usages/presentations etc.
Hey am trying to get this done but seems like AirPlay Display option is removed in the Monterey update for mac m1s which makes things little bit hard any idea about this.
I came here to say BIG THANK YOU!!! I purchased a mac book air 2021 for my wife and we could not believe we had to go through all this just to get extra screens. I did tons of research and your video was perfect and simple. And most importantly IT WORKS. BEST ALTERNATIVE! other videos require 200+ docking stations. I appreciate you taking the time and sharing.
Can you use any USB to HMDI? or does it have to be the one in your video? Can't wait to try this. I have been in and out of RU-vid looking for a workaround that's inexpensive
I assume this will work with an M1 iMac? I tried it on mine with a regular USB-c to HDMI adapter and it didn't work so it looks like I need to buy a specific dongle that supports displaylink
techMAMAgy I could not get my mac to show me "arrange" and I do see the second screen with the magic link, installed the software and all but the darn Macbookpro will not allow to have the airdrop or arrangement display--what am I doing wrong?
Montrey update: I had an Amazon basics docking station with displaylink, bought an anker hub (usb-c) that has 1xhdmi and connected the dock into one of the USB ports. Works perfect with 2x27" screens. I usually keep the lid closed
not sure if i got a defective usb hdmi adapter but this didn't work for me, the monitor connection does not last more than 2 min then I have to umplug everything so macos can detect it again.
Can you guys please tell the original naming of these devices that I should get through links, cause in those amazon links there is no any original naming of the products, I need to know, cauae I am not from US and I can't pruchase from amazon directly)
So, to make work everything correctly on my mac air m1, I have to buy the exact items as in this video or anything other like those hubs and cables are allowed/enough?
