@adeyemibabatunde1814 1st reason - the seat of the needle was too weared out. 2nd - the piston in the carb got stucked, so it couldn't move up, once throttle opened and the pressure dropped in the chamber.
@@IgorLapa Thanks What was the condition of choke, piston/jet pin, throttle, carburetor seat, float chamber adjustment bolt in the former carburetor? What could be done to repair stuck piston? New carburetor is not affordable/available, the old one should be repairable Kindly show the picture of the carburetor
@@IgorLapa Without buying a new carburetor, how can a stuck piston be fixed? Why was piston become stuck? Was it because of it worn out/scored like clipper blade? Can the piston be machined or sharpened like clipper blades,? Was piston coated with a different lubricant metal? Which lubricant can be used on piston so that it can run freely? Thanks
Hat der Motor mit den neuen Düsen auch genagelt (also nicht nur im Leerlauf)? Ich habe bei meinem die Düsen erneuert und beim Anfahren oder beim Fahren mit niedriger Drehzahl und sehr wenig Gas nagelt er etwas. Man hört es aber kaum. Ansonsten läuft er richtig weich.
@@wellenjaeger ich glaube in meinem Fall könnte ich das Klopfen nicht als Nageln bezeichnen, eher helles Geräusch nur im Leerlauf. Haben Sie auch die Kupferringe an der Pumpe gewechselt, oder sind die unberührt? Der Wechsel dieser bewirkt viel in beide Richtungen - gut und schlecht.
@@IgorLapa Ah okay! Auch interessant. Es kann alle Möglichen Ursachen für Geräusche geben. Die Einspritzpumpe habe ich an den Druckhalteventilen neu abgedichtet; ebenso die Kupferrunge. Wahrscheinlich dauert es einfach, bis das Nageln verschwindet. So viel bin ich mit den neuen Düsen noch nicht gefahren.
Pay attention - for the OM601 there are 2 different types of them (72hp or 75hp are different). You can see them simply - the angled sitting in the head or straight down. Straight sitting: KCA30S44. Angled sitting: KCA27S55. Both should be 115bar.

@IgorLapa oh I never knew injectors have a different pressure before seating. I didnt realise they were like an engine that needs running in too, that's so cool. Do you need to treat them like a new engine too, where you can't go over a certain rev range or something? I have learned something. Is there anything else I need to know about new injectors, so I don't accidentally ruin a new set in the future? Thank you, have a nice day =)

The most important stuff is - in case you ever will replace that orings on the pump outlets - pay attention to replace that copper rings too and to tighten the nuts extremely precise, also it must be very clear. To balance the pump pressure, timing - that is very rare, if you will find someone, who still can do it. To be honest - that engines will go, go, go....even they are not perfectly set up ) The real Mercedes-Benz
@@IgorLapa If in remember correctly, mercedes maintenance book for 123 and 124 diesels recommended fuel injector testing and rebuilding service (if needed) every 160 000 kms, to prevent possible nailing and leaking injectors. Small things save engine life in long run. 😃👍
Hi Jens, i replaced the head gasket because of leaking a bit of oil and sent the injectors for testing. The result was - 1 was already leaking, so i decided to replace all 4 because I found the old stock original 4 injectors for only 250EUR.
@@IgorLapa thx for reply, they are normally very good, my friend has 500k kilometers on his 200d and it has the original injectors. in my opinion the best engine Merceds has ever built; OM601/2/3..
@@timevscars i do it only on weekends, now we have winter time in Germany. I did a bodywork and put a primer (one working day). After I sanded and put base + clear - one working day too. Now a have to use 3M Trizact (wet) to get the bad orange peel down and polish - should be another 2-3 hours.
