man i can't believe it, this vid is what introduced me to Skrillex and Dubstep when i was 10, i thought i dreamed it up, but no there really was a Skrillex uncharted trailer
I actually can't put into words the deep and strong feelings this game made me feel. The fact that every once in a while I think about it or watch a video about it and I get emotional all over again reliving the moral questions and emotions is a true testament to how powerful this game is. It was definitely bold and they knew they would upset people, but I'm so glad they had the courage to go ahead anyway cuz it's phenomenal. Major props to everyone involved, Naughty Dog are so awesome!!
It wasn't courage. The opposite, in fact. Behind-the-scenes Neil Druckmann knew his "genius" revenge story he's been pushing since college wouldn't get bankrolled because nobody liked the premise by it's own merits. So he kept trying to force it into projects and was consistently overruled, whether it be Elena dying in Uncharted 2 to motivate Drake or some unnamed person dying to motivate Tess to hunt Joel in the first game. He *knew* he couldn't pull a Rebel Moon and just use the idea absent a franchise. And the worst part? There are no moral questions. It, in no uncertain terms, was trying to convey that some people, like the fictional character Abby, are entitled to commit violence against others and that their victims, like Joel and Ellie, deserve it and are wrong for thinking otherwise. This is because Neil Druckmann, who wrote the story, personally thinks this and is what he used to justify firing people for being the *victims* of a former MP developer who was his friend.
Después de tanto tiempo que negaba a jugarlo por la muerte de Joel, y cuando lo termine, hace una semana, me hizo reflexionar, hasta que punto es bueno odiar y en realidad calma la sed de venganza
The lady Neil hired to help write sounds like she added all the parts of the story I felt weren’t needed. There is a beautiful simplicity to the original games story.
As I grew older and replayed Part 2, I came to appreciate it more. It had its flaws, sure, but the way it depicted how revenge ruins everything and everyone around you was incredibly well done. It showed how someone you see as a hero or father figure, like Joel, can be viewed as a monster by others because of his actions. His decision to save his daughter came at the cost of countless other fathers, mothers, sons, and daughters-a consequence that eventually caught up with him. Joel was my favorite character, and while his death was tragic, it was ironically fitting in the world of The Last of Us-no one gets a happy ending. That said, the pacing was all over the place, with some unnecessary additions. Plus, the way Naughty Dog and PlayStation handled the backlash, along with the slight false advertising, didn’t help. The entire gaming community seemed divided, with people either saying 'it's great' or 'absolute trash'-and many hadn’t even played it (I was guilty of this myself at the time). Honestly, it feels like something went wrong during development. It’s almost as if they lost a lot of progress and had to rush things, which might explain why the story felt so lackluster despite glimpses of real potential. In the end, I’d rate it between a 7 and 8-it’s still above average, despite its flaws.
As a new gamer I'm really enjoying the TLOU franchise. These games are absolutely phenomenal and a true labor of love. Thank you Naughty Dog for crafting these thoughtful and entertaining stories! Thank you Gustavo Santaolalla for the amazing music! AND... AND... we need the third act to Ellie's story. 😉
i really admire Neil and the work he does, and this documentary shows who he is,ever facet of his in this game development ,low, highs, happy, sad, angry disappointed and pushing boundaries of every one around him and himself it shows that he is always trying his best and growing better, every one at naughty dog is incredible great work you guys
I'm asking why if you do something Remastered, it's only on ps4 you should have already released Uncharted: Nathan Drake's Collection on pc, not everyone can afford consoles either !!!!
To all Naughty Dog staff! Thank you for delivering this Masterpiece! You became my favourite studio ever since you released The Uncharted series! By any means is it perfect, no human creation is, but the game you delivered instantly became a generational landmark!
