I love the emphasis of fluidity and hard work. People seem so lazy when it comes to structuring their practice and would rather copy and paste from other people. No trial and error, no actual learning and growing.
@@kristakielman8441 there are multiple plants with road opening properties, friend. Also many plants are called abrecamino, too. “Koanophyllon villosum” it’s what it is called abrecamino both here in Florida, Cuba and Jamaica. I’m from Venezuela and we (along with other southern regions) mainly call abrecamino to “Fittonias” 🙌🏽
I have a few grimoires, they all have the same basics for my understanding, but will all lead into their own different directions of my interests in magick as I plan to learn all open practices I can! Each book will have their own spirit or personality in a way. Archetypes of the type of magick system im using in the moment. Whether it be elemental, planetary, ceremonial, positive, negative, etc. Also, i just have to mention that I love seeing other witches that are also star wars fans😂 Other than growing up loving charmed, buffy, hocus pocus, practical magic, etc. I also feel the closest I can get to the force is our realities witchcraft and occultism. It just feels right in my soul.
@@DisturbedGeneration that sounds very interesting! I’m that case I would love to see a video of the grimoires you have and how you practice with them. Since I made this video I’ve added a few extra elements to my practice, so more to come to the channel! And I love this shirt but I need to get more into Star Wars! I feel I barely know enough 😭 last movie I saw was Episode III
in many ways, magic is about transferring awareness from the head to the HEART. we sacrifice our inauthentic limited ideas about who we are and what we want in life. sunshine and rainbows it is not.
I'm happy I found your channel I watched a video with many witches on a one video where they played a game and I like how you talked about your practice and how you explained witchcraft Merry Meet. 🌒🌕🌘
I assume you saw the panel on Ivy’s channel! Thank you so much! Currently, my goal is to be very honest about my practice and what I do. My focus is on experience and books, over aesthetics. Thank you for leaving a comment!
Very intresting! Never thought about witchcraft along fairy tales, but it makes totally sense! All our occidental archetipes are shown in this stories 🤔 thank you so much for this conversation! 🙏🏼❤️
Thank you so much! Like you, I never realized how many fairytales utilize motifs and symbols that can be interpreted as ways to learn or experiment with witchcraft. Thank you for leaving a comment! 🙏🏾
Water with salt or blessed water. If you have fresh seawater or river water, even better. Rainwater is good too. Placing what you want to cleanse in running natural water is even better!
Cleansing can also be done with sound! Usually bells or chimes, some sweep the area with a broom, ground and air, to 'sweep' out unwanted energy. There are many other options too. Research is your best friend (:
Yeah I am replying to my own message sue me :P. People should embrace both sides of duality, masculine and feminine, I do in a non-binary way. Part of it is because I had to raise and nurture my own self.
@@SaplingTarot thank you so much! I honestly have been dearly enjoying learning about this! It can be a lot but it is a cool topic. Thank you for commenting 🫶🏽
Ohh I'd love to hear how you get on with the book by Demetra George (only if and when you feel inclined to share of course!) I've been wanting to get both volumes but afraid that it would be too intimidating for beginners, so it would be interesting to hear your perspective 😊 thanks for sharing and summarizing your knowledge of the planets ✨
@@magickalmooncat I do admit the volumes are hefty. I got the 1st volume and as soon I finish it I’ll continue to the 2nd one. I also have to say that Astrology is a complex topic for me, so this definitely is out of my comfort zone, but Demetra does teach the topic in a concise way. Once I’m done with the book I’ll make a review
I absolutely loved this interview, but the dialect was a bit hard to understand at times. Had to pause and rewind several times. I am planning to purchase the book.
Thank you for commenting and for sharing your thoughts! What recommendations do you have so the next interview is better? Maybe better captioning? Thanks for commenting 🙏🏾
@@jessie245 Thank you for the comment! There’s a lovely aspect to aesthetics (which does excellently on social media), but aesthetics for aesthetics’ sake is not necessarily what we are interested in. Practice takes time, effort, and hard work! So, all that rambling to say: thank you for commenting, and yes, I agree with you. 😂🙏🏾
It is not a coincidence that yesterday and also today I spoke with someone about how I want to dive into sex and black magic through rituals and reading and now here I am because I finally said yes to the spirits but off course on my own terms And yeah the spirits always keep their promises to me and I got a taste of what I asked for it’s so delicious
Thank you so much for this conversation! Was very nurturing and validating on the origins of our american ancestry and magic! I live in Chile, and many things you mentioned resonated and made me think a lot 🙏🏼😊
Thank you so much! I’m very happy that this conversation resonated with you! I feel there’s such a huge and meaning are of our cultures and practices that could be shared and that stays unexplored. I honestly loved having the opportunity to connect with Solomon and learn more about his history and traditions. Thanks for leaving a commenting
Thank you! I don’t have a video yet, but I’ll be making one. In the meantime, for a beginner, I would recommend making a petition candle on a Wednesday. A color associated with the petition would work excellently. I would use orange, which is also associated with Road Opening. Anoint your petition (regarding anything that you want to open your roads to) and your candle with the oil, and light your candle every sunrise for a week, starting and ending on Wednesday. Very simple and efficient! A more advanced-ish but quicker method is to bring your petition anointed with the oil, rum, coins, and tobacco to a crossroads on a Wednesday. I would prefer at night, but sunrise works too. Place the coins in the crossroads and let the Spirit of the Crossroads know why you are there. Read your petition, and as a thank you, pour the rum on the ground. You can also light the tobacco, but I don’t smoke, so I just place it on top of the rum. Say thanks again, and leave without turning back. May the Lady that Holds the Torch bless you!
@@abwitchjournal thank you so much! I appreciate the through response, it really helps a lot! I just subscribed to your channel; I have a channel too where I talk about spiritual stuff too, i would say I’m a beginner beginner baby witch lol I’d love to keep & touch!! hope you have an amazing day!
You are very welcome! I’ll be checking your content soon. I’m six years into my practice so I know what you mean, but we definitely are growing and learning and that’s what is important 🙏🏾 and yes, let’s connect!
I did not know that the D.C. area how a big witchcraft community......it..makes..you.. think. Oh I would love to know why/how the Hindu Gods made their way into the botanicas..sounds interesting! I'm not surprised that there's a disconnect between the streets and the (book) sheets 😂🤣 I live in Arizona and I work with the Greek Gods and I am trying to learn more about their magick but I do agree with him on the local part especially for plant and animal. Our flora and fauna are not talked about a lot in witchcraft books and our seasons look different than European countries like Greece. We have a museum here in Arizona I believe dedicated to the Mayans and one of the school field trips I went on we went to that place. We got to see one of the courts for the Mayan Ballgame, it was SO cool!! I remember that we sat on the very top of the court and dangling my feet 😂🤣😂🤣 We also got some souvenirs like a real black obsidian arrowhead. I love El Dorado. I did not know that Central America was considered North America. I love storm/rain lore. A lot of people conflate Hades and Thanatos. Hades IS the God OF the Dead but Thanatos IS Death. Helios IS the sun, Apollo IS the God OF the Sun.
Thanks for commenting friend! Honestly I learned a lot too. When it comes to talk about botánicas, I do have to say that we have a lot of many practices and influences from other countries and traditions. In Venezuela I was able to find Buddhas images and statues, Holy Saints, Solomonic Pentacles… it was heavy in a lot of things. Mainly Santeria and other ATRs, yes. But you could find everything.
I chose to see this video for two reasons - I really like the #OcculTea and your face felt somewhat familiar (I think I'm currently doing a course you're in). :) And although I honestly didn't expect this, I thoroughly enjoyed this whole video - it felt like a good conversation with a friend. Liked, subscribed and genuinelly curious to watch more of what you have to say! 🥰
Wow thank you so much! I dearly appreciate your words 🙏🏾 honestly that’s my goal; to make this a space to connect, make friends and talk about different practices! Thank you for following and connecting 🫶🏽
I think the whole cultural appropriation movement is misguided. There are very few pure cultures that exist today. Every great civilization mingles and learns from its neighbors. Truth is truth regardless of which cultural first discovers it. We all borrow and learn from each other. If something works it works if it doesn't it doesn't. That being said i believe we should make sincere effort to learn the teachings in the original context and culture in which it originated as a form of respect to our teachers and also to gain the best understanding. This is not to say you have to give up your own beliefs but for purposes of learning something new, put it on the back burner. Later it will make sense how it fits
I’m glad that you have such an extensive background and felt the need to comment on my video. Me, as person with a very mixed culture and genetic background, I can understand where you are coming from. Cultural appropriation is a nuanced topic with too many factors to be considered to properly talk about it in a comment. What I will say is that when I talk about cultural appropriation, I am not referring to the “purity” of a tradition. Many traditions are influenced by various cultures and backgrounds and still require cultural heritage and initiation to participate in them. Thank you for watching the video and commenting.
I came from a background in neo-paganism and then western ceremonial magick. Then I met my guru and was initiated into Sri Vidya Tantra as a devotee of Uchishta Ganapati and Sri Pratyangira devi. Then Santa Muerte appeared to me last year. I am learning the folk catholic traditional practices and i really am actually enjoying it despite my disdain for the church. However, Christianity is an amalgamation of every pagan culture it eradicated throughout history. So in a way i think it is Santisima teaching us how to take back the lost knowledge of our ancestors. The church christianized pagan deities, so now the pagan deities are paganizing Christianity. It is a beautiful turning of tables
You are a good interviewer. Marshall is so gracious and knowledgeable. He seemed totally delighted that you asked questions that drew out some of the subtleties, and complexities of his stories 🙏🧙♀️🧙♂️
Thank you so much! In full honesty, Marshall was so sweet and patient with my rambling. I admit that my interviewing skills have gotten way better since then! What I really loved about his book is that it is so full of layers. I’m glad he was able to delicately reveal them for beginners like me. I can’t wait for his next book!
I would love to have this book to review on my channel. My followers would love it. I know a bit about the seals of Solomon but I'd love to see that entire book
