The Budget Adventure Show takes you on a journey around Australia as cheaply as possible. You don’t need expensive vehicles or set ups to do it. I’m here to show you it’s easier then you think, you just need to take the first step.
good vid mate , best to get out after the rain keep the sun on your back if you looking for opal it shines up good on the ground good luck finding some mate
Don't get discouraged i always look forward to your vids. The postie bike in the high country would be a great idea. By what I've seen on RU-vid anything to do with a postie bike is always popular as it is something different add that to the high country you would be onto a winner l.
@@darrengray2309 yeah building a trailer like the boat with a rooftop tent and a spot for a postie bike was an idea I had. Something to think about over winter. For now I’ve got some stuff planned with the 4wd and I need to get it done before the gates are locked for winter
Hey buddy i could be mistaken bit did i see a Tinny in your front yard with a roof top tent on it? If i did any chance you could do a quick video on it as something i'm interested in doing. Thanks
Hi brad, you have by no means failed, enjoyed all vlogs on Both channels straight John bull Aussie, and that's from a pommie, don't change don't apologise ,your a talented vlogger, some of the best RU-vid videos I be seen have low views, and it's criminal, not your fault keep rocking mucka!😊👍🤙no moat or shotgun needed brother🤣
Hi brad,No.1 Fan here😝🤣if your Roxy sees this, she's gonna make a skidlid out of her dog bowl, and claim shotgun on your next bike ride to Nariel valley😊😅just stunning oz beauty 👍five star mate thanks for sharing.
Ha ha have been trying to work a way of brining her on the bike. Easiest was tucking into jacket but she wanted her front feet on the tank. Not really safe so haven’t done it again
I bought one of these. Leaked a bit 2 cans Scotchguard later...tbh regretted buying it. More a hiker and 4x4 DD tarp ridgeline close the ends up is quicker easier. Throw a few citronella candles in a Pecks paste jar and mozzies are sorted
Thanks mate. Did you season it at all? I haven’t had a leaking issue from rain, more condensation building up a bit on cooler nights. But I soaked it in a bucket for a day when I first got it. Thanks for watching
@budget-adventure I gave it to a mate who like you bike camps a yr ago he likes it. I'm more a hike camp guy. I just use a 3x3 tarp apex it. Trees or cut a few branches. Summer add a footprint with mozzie net. I've tried a few of these type tents hooped bivis etc. 3x3 ridgeline or as a skill ion angled tarp works for me and it goes up faster easier for me if it's raining. Worst case scenario is I need to dig a Chanel to direct waterfowl away. Work if a few mins in wet ground heel drag heel drag. I can apex a 3x3 close 1 end off and still toasty warm in winter. IF I get anything else it will be a 4x4 so I can do sane close both ends off. I use a snugpack bivi small light keeps bag dry at feet if any rain is to come in. As weight isn't so much an issue for you, a $100 150 down bag a ex army unhooped bivi bag would do the same. They weigh just over 1kg snugpack like grams 30 50 or something very small too 50mm X 120mm or so. Tarp is just more versatile I think. Apex it skilion it, you could put your bike under that sit have a brew break at lunch even in the pissing down rain. If your not into knot tying 4 cam locks BCF and cheap Keating type caribeeners to clip it to the tarp. Work of under 2 mins to put it up
ah okay. I have the Alton 3x3 I use sometimes mainly with the hammock. But I have two army hootchies I can use as well or button together to make a big tarp. Just depends on where I’m going and what the weathers like
Fair Dinkum Brad for raising money for leukemia, chopping off your hair, and gawd bless for25.17,Just peachy 🙈😝😂Australia is just beautiful, just stunning views, the colours, the scenery untouched pretty much, may it long last, deserves many thousands more likes and subs, just enjoyed the Opal mines with your family, don't ever change Aussies, top dollar vlogs.👍🤙💪
Hi Mate! Thanks for sharing. Just found your channel. I will be filming my review on the same unit in coming months - paid full in November 2022. Agree with everything you've said. I tie down the unit in the back of Prado - rough multi day high country trips etc. Haven't had a problem with the 30A mini anderson adaptor, and unless cargo pushes down on the 12V cig plug, it stays connected too. I face the unit against the side of the car in the boot - which makes accessing plugs a bit more difficult but keeps the sockets protected from weather when tailgate open and stops cargo knocking the plugs. When I push it hard up against the wheel arch plastic trim I still have clearance near the wall to fit the plugs into sockets. Still wish it had a normal anderson plug output. Looks like you are using GoPro or similar for some of your filming - suggest change settings from wide to 'linear' this will make it seem like a normal camera, and not like a fish-eye lens. You may be all over this already. Best wishes, Dan
It was me that asked about doing 4wdriving in the Colorado. I also like the tinny videos as i bought a 4.1 savage garnet 12 months ago and still haven't taken it out yet. Have you thought about doing a camping trip in the tinny along the Murray?
Sorry man I knew the question was asked I should have checked the comments to mention you. Yes defiently want to do a few trips with the boat. I should have spent a day pulling the carbie off and giving it a good clean because it ran like crap the entire time. And I’ve had the roof top tent on the trailer for three years and only slept in it once lol
nice video mate, I appreciate the mention. Man you are very natural speaking in front of the camera, very enjoyable to watch mate. That's one thing I am unable to do, a mixture of anxiety and aphasia keeps me and the video i make fairly silent. I'm pretty envious of someone who can express themselves as you do in front of a camera. Defo keep going :), I personally I enjoy watching your content. that meal looked the part too, it's on par with that steak sandwich you made not long ago. I reckon postie bike camping would make for some killer content.
I’m still awkward in front of the camera I just take longer to edit a video lol. And there’s a big market for the asmr or quiet videos. The great thing about a great location is you say it best when you say nothing at all lol. It’s because of your channel I’ve stopped talking in the mornings and just let the bush speak to camera. But appreciate the comments man
Honestly love, watching your Videos you don’t really care what anyone else thinks you just do what you like to do and I’d love to go out for a ride with you through the bush explore I’m local in Barney but anyway love your Videos mate
It's actually an enjoyable watch. I will be honest i enjoy watching when your out in your 4wd. Alot of channels started out like yours but once they start to get popular companies just start throwing shitloads of gear at them and thats when i loose interest. You could do a review on how the Colorado is going and point out the positives and negatives about it.
@@budget-adventure I will not be considering buying their stuff, I want to upgrade to a 2000 W or more power station, they do have a new one with 2000W, but after my experience with their stuff, will not be considering it.
Adding a larger inverter is one thing, but if it’s still the 100ah lithium battery then it’s just not worth it. There’s no reason why these power packs don’t have a 200ah battery in them now.
nice video mate 😎👌 i carry a small jump starter with me just in case i need it 😁 havent needed it yet buuuut have used it a couple of times on other peoples bikes 🤣 keep well Sir and ride safe-ish 😉🍺
Thanks mate. Unfortunately because the battery dropped a cell even if I had my jump back I would have still been in trouble. My itech jumper only delivers 12v when in jump mode, as soon as powers sent it turns off. The kings ones are a lot better as they supply constant 12v. You can use it as a battery and just tuck it under the seat to get home. But lesson learnt
i got a cheapo on ebay prob chinees for $40 i use it for hunting ive had for about 5 years, got one from anaconda for $130 was 40%off sale used it once wasent happy with it takes twise as long to set up
Yeah I have one of those cheaper Chinese tents, and while I like the quicker set up time the fly screens would in no way stop mozzies from getting into the tent. And when you look at set up times, the swag will always be the quickest and easiest to set up. But I think this tent and my hammock set up would take about the same time, and when your just making videos like this your not getting into camp late and have plenty of time to set camp up.
@@budget-adventure thanks for the vid. I am an old lady. I just tried out my new Denali Kakadu 11 Hike tent. I couldn't work out where to put the ends of the poles and ended up just sticking them into the earth. Consequently the tent was not as rigid as it should have been. The fly was touching the inner tent and that would have been bad had it rained. It's certainly only for one person! My dog had to sleep in the car!
@@budget-adventure just watching again as I really struggle with how to put this up. I think I understand from watching your video. I just live near Yackandandah.
@@gerriboland let me know how you go, it’s important to peg the floor in first, then insert both poles and they cross each other. If you have issues I might be able to fly up the valley and give you a hand
Yeah so far no issues. It’s not something I’d use during winter but I like the complete fly screen inner tent, over summer you’d be able to just pack the inner tent and look up at the stars. And yeah I hate tents that don’t have a big enough opening. The side entrance means you can climb in beside the bedding and undress is needed without siting on the sleeping bag itself
If I shopped the day I went out and not a few days earlier I would have had a nice Turkish bread roll and it would have been a lot better lol. Luckily the extra protein made up for it :)
mozies will get you in a hamick , yar lot of gear sleepng bags etc -10c are not the reel rating as you say ,pay top $$$ some times for shit and lot cheaper gear is as good , paying for the name mate sit in tent eat less bugs man
I’ve only used my hammock a couple of times and have been lucky even though mozzies were around they didn’t eat me through the fly screen. At least with the tent there’s a bit more room.
Yeah typical she’ll be right attitude. For the last few months not riding it to work if I didn’t start it once a week the battery would be too low to start it so I knew it was on the way out. Just pay the $120 and replace it and you wouldn’t have these issues lol.
So no ones mentioned the lack of condiments yet. I pre made some tartare sauce and paid $2.60 for a single lemon but unfortunately left them both at home.
Sorry guys there seems to be an issue going around RU-vid at the moment where you can’t reply to comments. I’ve sent in a report but hopefully larger channels are doing it also to get them to fix the issue
@agesadventures mostly. Like the big metre plus cod they make a good picture. Last trip we caught a few big females that were 14-15cm. It’s pretty rare now days with people coming down from Sydney or up from Melbourne and just taking everything they can catch. It completely strips a section of river near a public reserve for years
With the river being higher then normal over the last two years we’ve been able to get to more remote places where they haven’t been heavily fished. But the legal maximum is only 12cm so a lot go back because they are too big.
Love done 2 already but haven’t filmed them. It’s hard trying to film solo while negotiating off-road obstacles. But I’m going to try and get one on film at least
Yeah mate went on a trip weekend just gone and it was down to 3.5 degrees again. But the week ahead looks good with overnight temps not getting under 10.
Iv got a little companion 40 ah instead of putting in a dual battery setup so I can throw it between our trucks. Get about a day and a half out of it in summer running a 40l fridge but normally run it on the charge driving between camps or solar panel it to top it up. Highly rate lithium battery packs, love mine👌
Ah okay. Do you use the inverter much? Obviously the smaller battery capacity units work well there’s a flood of them in the market. I just like the piece of mind having the higher capacity just in case. I didn’t mention it in the video but at the start of this trip the 12v car charger got hot and melted so I had no way of charging it after I left home. It was fine for a night away, but you expect better quality out of a $2300 unit
@@budget-adventure yeah mate 100% agree with you id prefer a larger capacity one, for a long weekend mine is perfect but if I was going longer id love a larger one like yours just to reduce charging frequency. Yep mine actually does the same thing gets very hot at the cig socket after a couple hours of charging while driving, definitely a downside hey.
For what it’s worth, I live in Bright and fish these rivers. Thirty plus years of experience has taught me that you will get more success drifting the bait rather than retrieving it. Ideally, look for some faster water washing into a pool, drop the bait into the faster water and let it wash into the pool with the bail arm open at first to allow the bait to wash further down the pool. When the bait has travelled far enough you can start a very slow retrieve. They will usually grab it on the way through the pool but will take it on the retrieve. Also, I never use worms for that type of fishing, I used to use only mudeyes but they are expensive and hard to get unless you get your own. You need to use the minimum weight on the line and mostly I would have one small split shot only. I started to use maggots, four or five on a size 12 hook and found them to be the best bait of all.
Some great info there and thank you for sharing. I haven’t done a lot of stream fishing like this, and probably explains why I don’t have a lot of success lol.
