U can still use android auto and use your steerwheel controls. Hes just showing all the additional things you can do with it aswell. Hope this helps.

You need to add cell phone sim to make a call or calling account to make calls from car link I never need it because I got suburban 2022 and I get my calls phone which is also connected to car I don’t think the steering button can make a call with this car link device connected to car
