What did you say "Water Straight out of the TAP " Which Tap not your houshold Kitchen sink or Bathroom.. The water in these Optimist units will need to be PURE Water with no Lime or other solids . Use Tap water and your Transducher will fail plus you will get a layer of Lime in the Steam Chimney... NO TAP WATER. Distilled or Britax Water Filtered is fine
