Hi my name is Mark Cronk and welcome to my channel! Here you will find a lot about my passions and hobbies. The playlist Car Stuff showcases cars I currently or have owned. You can see I have been collecting, restoring and racing Pontiacs for many years. In the playlist "At the Lake" you will find content from the Harris Chain of Lakes near Leesburg Fl. This content includes boat and jet ski rides, fishing, wildlife, and general lake life activities. " In the Dirt" is a collection of dirt bike racing and riding that I and my sons have done over the last decade. I am constantly adding new stuff so check back regularly and thanks for watching!
Beauty. I drove the same thing with a 428 back in the mid 80's. My dad's brother said, "go ahead." I drove around my neighborhood for 10 minutes and then noticed it had disc brakes up front. Quiet and well plumbed/piped it got-up-and went just like that. Oh yeah, it was metallic root beer brown with black vinyl top. Love these cars!
No. Actually the Lemans had a T41 option availble that included the GTO Hood, Grill, and front bumper. This car is an original Lemans Sport with the T41 option.
Yep. I have not been actively trying lately. Working on two other cars has kept me busy. Here is link to an old ad facebook.com/marketplace/item/1056065625552662
@@markcronk8109 should I put my email on here so I can get you my number? I'm in illinois. I'm a huge collector, had one that color long ago. Looks clean.. thx dan
I drove a 69 Lemans that belonged to my neighbor when I was a teenager.Let me tell you. Great car Great acceleration & braking. It wasn't fully loaded like this one & it had bench seats. Car ran very well.
Class of '88, My first car was a '69 LeMans, Matador Red w/ Red interior. 2006 , I purchased a '68 LeMans, Solar Red w/Pearl White interior. ... I ❤ this body style ! ... I must say, Your's is a beautiful ride as well 😉 Thanks for sharing !
Hidden headlights were standard on 68 GTOs but you could order them without. In 69 hidden headlights were optional. All 68 GTOs still had the vent windows in the doors. 1969 was the first year without vent windows. It is a 69. I have restored and won national events with other 69 GTOs.
That was for 67 and 68 GTOs only. They used the Hurst His and Hers shifter. For 1969 Pontiac developed their own "ratchet" shifter that worked much like the Hurst one. Little known fact that the 69 floor shifters for GTO worked as a ratchet style. Later years looked the same but did not have the ratchet feature.
Sadly from 2030 on all combustion cars including classics will be banned from public streets in entire EU and Scandinavia :-( In Germany the German Green Peoples Party gave order to shorten fuel supply from 2025 on by reducing petrol stations to only one state operated central gas station per city. From 2027 on in the EU certain car spare parts will be banned too....as exhaust systems, turbo chargers and even some engine and gearbox oils...California and New York will do the same from 2027 on.... So no investments should be done in oil burning cars any more...
I find this very difficult to believe since their will be millions of vehicles, incuding commercial vehicles, still in service in 2030 with no economic means to be replaced. There is not enough alternative vehicles to replace the existing numbers and there is not a charging grid even remotely capable of supporting that number of EV vehicles. It simply will not happen in that short of time frame. I can see a gradual phasing over a longer period of time. We have seen government policy making be modified/reversed when it is not economically feasible to achieve in such a short term.
It sold for $297k at Mecum Auction in Kissimmee. Another one was there also but only bid to $200k and did not meet reserve (no sale). Interestingly this GTO Convertible was the highest price for a Pontiac and supassed what a 1970 Judge convertible sold for.
I know of one because I owned it for a short time, was midnight green with green and a numbers matching car it’s now blue w/ white and a manual Trans was installed.
What a gorgeous Trans Am a rare one at that. The last year of the Super Duty 455. Nice wheels on this one too. And an factory 8-track tape player really brings back memories.
Possibly because it has a PYPES 2.5 inch X crossover with their mufflers. Also the idle is set per the tune up decal for RA 4 speed cars (1,000 rpm) and the RA II cars did not use the 1.65 rockers like the RA IV which reduced duration slightly.
I was just thinking the other day I have not created anything new in a while. I do need to do a full shoot on this car. I was waiting to get it a little further along. However I probably should go ahead now since any more work on it will require taking it apart again.
Agreed. I often feel the same about things but it sure looks presentable, maybe 100 still exist and they aren't all perfect. You're doing fine! @@markcronk8109
There is a list for these cars. To get on the list you have to provide PHS or factory documentation. Currently there are about 25 to 30 cars on the list and another half dozen or so that are "known" but not on the list. Last year I attended the Mecum auction to inspect the Aegean Blue RAII GTO that Jim Mattison used to own. It is one of only 3 that have been sold at autions since 2016 (it has traded hands at least twice since 2016). Some may have traded privately but not a lot of data on valuations for these cars. That car sold last year at Mecum for $250k and was a high end restoration.@@wtdonovan
all that in mind I have to say yours has a list of options that would make anyone covet it. Does it get pretty decent gas mileage? ;) Have you had any luck at the drag strip?@@markcronk8109
