Arman Sangalang is a jazz saxophonist, composer, and educator based in Chicago. Throughout his career, he has had the opportunity to work with musicians such as Matt Ulery, Greg Ward, Jon Irabagon, and Walter Smith III among others. As a bandleader, he currently leads the Arman Sangalang Quartet and IRIS, a collaborative jazz quintet. In 2022, his quartet performed at the Chicago Jazz Festival featuring his original compositions and his group IRIS was one of four groups selected to participate in the JAS Jazz Academy. He is also a recipient of the Jazz Institute of Chicago’s Jazz Links Fellowship where he aims to learn about the deep musical traditions in Chicago and develop as an artist.
