Soloing this back to back like that had to be so hard (remember what she is hitting with her pinky on one she has to use her thumb on the other... I think). My only request if this is redone is at least 480p (so you get stereo audio) with each side recording one of the pianos. Problem with a setup like that is it works best with headphones where having a single mic works with pc speakers as well.
@CBasie2856 That's the whole point of this piece. Steve Reich's Phase's were written as an expression of how much variety you can get out of one phrase. I think this is a brilliant performance and it held me in eager anticipation for the whole piece. You need to listen a little harder and, forgiving the cliché, think a little deeper.
@sorabji1 Just how? Just how sorabji? The point is that this piece has WAY too much repetition, it is rather boring and dull. There needs to be more variance in this piece, and you cannot just do the same thing over and over and over again.
Nice work and a good start! Having performed Piano Phase solo on the pipe organ numerous times myself I can completely relate to the challenges the piece presents. One tip for lengthening the gradual phasing sections: concentrate on the thumb in your right hand, allowing it to strike just a fraction before the left hand, gradually increasing until hands are exactly interlaced, then increasing gradually again until they arrive together. Focus on the thumb and the other fingers will follow!
Ok, if it has a melody, it is repeated way too many times. She's just doing the same thing over and over again. To me, that's not music. Music is rhythm, variation, melody, and harmony all at the same time. This piece accomplishes none of these. Srry....
Genial, eres bueno...veras ,te falla un poco el stacato al final del largo..pero eres genial ,de veras...tienes un gran futuro...me a gustado mucho las lacrimas ,precioso.5***** y favoritos.
It's Flemish, or the Belgian dutch, if you want. I'm the guy second from right, with the black hat. Can you imagine that this was a task from our Dutchteacher?
