@@HamidTahery Hi Hamid, unfortunately because I use assets I don’t have the rights too I’m unable to share this project file, but you can find many others on my gumroad!
I make 3D cubes in Photoshop 3D and then bring them into After Effects. been doing this for the past 10 years. but your method really makes a massive difference.
Scott, you are absolutely right, I have been using After effects since version CS5 did many basic motion graphics projects, but never really learnt indepth motion design and animation at a level where it is so intricate to detail. I have been following some of your content and I am excited to further refresh my skills by taking your advice and watching some of your teaching material. You really have made me think further about my weak side of applied after effects skills. Thank you Scott . I will continue to follow you. Much Appreciated !!!
In a Nutshell: Spend some money and watch RU-vid in hope to learn something Realize you’re losing dozens of hours. Keep trying work until it starts to look pretty. Understand the workflow; experience burnout. Watch mindless RU-vid videos. Repeat.
Save yourself time creating those stripes. Make a big square shape, fill it with a gradient with a few random colour stops, add Colorama (uncheck interpolate Palette) and animate the movement with Offset. No need for loads of rectangles, null object etc. also easier to loop.
Thank you so much, you're a legend, even if I don't end up using the topic of the video (I did end up for this one), on your channel I always find some keyboard shortcut or some effect that I will definitely use in the future!
I thought i'd try a video with no background music or my face in the corner! I'd love to know if you prefer this. You can also grab the project file for free on my Gumroad - the link is in the description. Hope you enjoy!
Lol, I was going to ask "wait, what's this in", because all the Vox style videos I saw in the past week since I started on the topic were in DaVinci Resolve.
Your way of teaching is truly an inspiration, not only are you effective. You also go in depth on the topics that we as learners want to know. Fantastic tutorial
@@motionbyscott not at all mate! I really appreciate how you go into every scenario that you might encounter and also explain the reason behind why you do as you do. Gonna binge watch every video of yours now!
Question: do you really need to learn 3d software or AE is enough? I know PS and AI. I also started learning Pr Pro, main goal being becoming a video editor. I realized that these days you need to have knowledge of AE as well. So I started learning AE and started wondering if I can switch completely to motion graphics than using Ae for some simple animations I might need in video editing. I love both video editing and motion graphics. But I don't want to spend the time learning a 3d software. So is AE enough for motion graphics?
@@keyoor18 There’s plenty of great 2D motion designers, I wouldn’t say it’s essential to learn 3D. Depends what you enjoy as that’s what you’ll stick to!
Great tutorial, served me well to be featured on my motion graphics school social media (: Thank you! Though I am having trouble using the C4D renderer because my animation preview stopped working, the preview screen turned just plain grey and I cannot render it either, lol. I spent days trying to figure out the issue, rolling back to previous Ae versions, cleaning and reinstalling, but honestly I suspect that 8 GB RAM is just not enough for 3D.
I’ve never heard of this. I’d definitely put it down to the RAM! After effects utilises it for its preview caching so it does seem like there’s just not enough to go around.
@@dima_borgir I chose to use this artwork out of choice because I liked it. Motion Array only had input on the sponsored segment. The rest of the video is down to me.
I have noticed that you always or almost always use a background grid, is there a way to configure it and have it appear whenever we open a new composition
@@nerm0557 There’s a little icon underneath your composition window that when you click it will open up a drop down. I use the proportional grid! Just a habit I’ve picked up for easy alignment of things
I really loved the illustration when I came across it, and wanted to bring it to life! It presented a couple challenges, but here's my full workflow and how I tackled it. Let me know what you would have done differently!
