Awesome car, that option in 1965 would have really put that car at the front of the pack. Could never understand why turbo/ supercharging didn't take off for another 35 years?

My military family in 1966 bough a brand new in Temple Texas This wagon went everywhere in the states and abroad. It was a fortress on the highway and the powerful V8 could keep up with any muscle car of that era. Today I have search for years to find one like it ,but hard to find the Iconic 1966 commuter model .

There's a convertible version ( also black) in equally nice condition in East Atlanta at a friend's repair shop. When I was in high school in the early 80's outside of DC, a girlfriend's dad had one moldering away in his backyard, also in black.

These are very rare nowadays. The reason they didn't sell many was the taillights. I know, right? Off to the scrapyard they went, unloved. Starliner was underappreciated. A great car.

Oh, Yes. 1956 Mercury Monterey has quite the body lines. Those "leaning" headlights and just... everything. Haven't come across one yet, however, I would submit the 1956 Mercury Montclair 2-Door Hardtop is worth ogling. ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-Eeq0wMR-xdo.html

Likely made by January 9, 1942. A family was quite fortunate to get the maroon beauty. Perfect car for going to church on Sunday morning with dinner to follow. Make it prime rib with all of the fixings. Chrysler at its finest!

The blue truck looks like a '36. Has '36 cab and '36 hood
@JaynorEntertainment
@JaynorEntertainment 4 месяца назад
Thanks for commenting. The truck is registered as a 1935. What happens with various vehicles when you see them at car shows is there can be a pastiche of parts - whether through esthetics or availability. Some owners love the look of a part from a different year and if it fits, they use it. When we can (sometimes it's Really hard), we Always talk to the owner to get the details. Owners will always talk about their vehicle and what changes they've made (you'd be surprised at how many Mustang rear-ends are out there.) Long live Car Shows!

In my opinion 1956 was the epitome of car design....even make looked good from the cheapest Rambler to the Chevy Ford Plymouth lines to the Cadillacs and Lincolns....my favorite is still the Packard and Lincoln Continental Mark ll.... glad I found this site .
@JaynorEntertainment
@JaynorEntertainment 4 месяца назад
Agreed. '50s have some great lines on them. We do have a few Packards and Lincolns in our video library. They're becoming rarer and rarer at car shows since 2020. Montrose Car Show will have one or two Packards. We've definitely got one we've not posted yet. Thanks for watching and commenting.

THAT'S NOT 1963 FRONT EMBLEM
@JaynorEntertainment
@JaynorEntertainment 5 месяцев назад
As a high school auto shop find, the owner basically had to rebuild the car. So, it's a bit of a pastiche. Car is registered as a 1963. A car show goer has to be careful when "identifying" makes and models because owners do change out bumpers, tail lights, etc. for something they find aesthetically pleasing. So, ignore the Emblem. It looks good though!

Yeah, this guy was full of it. They did make a couple, but the 4-speed was not possible behind the 440+6 engine. If it was real, there would be a "V" in the 5th digit of the VIN for the proper engine code. That's all the proof he would have needed to mention.
@JaynorEntertainment
@JaynorEntertainment 6 месяцев назад
The owner was with the car and fielded this very question. He said there were 2 uncounted for cars and this was one of them. There are indeed clones out there but we can only take the word and assurances of the owner. Very astute observation. And, thank you for watching and commenting! We appreciate it! This is California, by the way, there are many cars here that still exist because our weather is "good car weather." Low mileage indicates it was parked in a garage. Leno has found a few cars that "don't exist" because they've been garaged and "forgotten."

Love this car. I owned a 70 AMX 360 4-speed Go package 3.73 posi. I was a burnout machine. I can't remember how many tires and clutches I went through. With MT tires it would turn high 13s but topped out at only 110mph. Very fun and unique car. Wish I still owned it. ps installing a 5 speed is the way to go!
