Happy to say this, Thybulle will be out of the NBA system by seasons end. The issue post olympics was not thybulle v delly or ingles but rather Green v Thybulle. No one could have anticipated Green shooting so poorly and making him a shooting liability and thus making us miss Thybulle more. If green shot 35% from 3 and 40% from field, we wouldnt be discussing thybulles absence and would have rolled serbia. And been in the hunt for a medal again.
It's good there are small local sports like AFL, this guy wouldn't last 5 minutes in a real professional sport at the highest level like basketball or soccer.
why does the players association allow the AFL to pay them so little would have been a nice question. why does the afl ceo and board get paid more than the top players too.
Dustin Martin has to be top 5. He did it all - Home & Away and Finals. He burnt both ends of the candle. People often forget that he has also won 3 Gary Ayres awards - Player of the Finals. He wasn't just a "Grand Final specialist". Add these awards to his Brownlow medal, AFLMVP, AFCLCA Player of the Season, four All Australians and two Best & Fairest awards for Richmond, he was very good in Home & Away football. You thrn combine his Home & Away footy with his record in Finals.....to me he is a top 5 player. Everyone will say that Finals football is when it matters most. At times far too much emphasis is put on Home & Away footy. Home & Away football sets a team up for a Premiership but it's Finals football that wins a Premiership. Home & Away footy is important, it decides the ladder, decides the Brownlow, Coleman medal, All Australian team and other awards, but Finals footy is when it truly matters most. Finals footy may only last for one month and it is a short window time wise but that's when you want players playing at their best. Dustin Martin, surely had to be in the top 5 for players since 2000..

The insights are fantastic. Swanny gave me a $100 drink card at star bar, one night. I reckon it was around 2005/6-ish. I didn't annoy him, didn't hassle him, just nodded at the upstairs bar. He was well lubricated, but said g'day, asked how my night was going and then flicked the drink card my way. First and only time I saw him, but I still remember it.
