I personally have actual backcountry cross-country skis (Madshus Panorama M78), and they are so fun I almost completely stopped going to ski resorts You can climb some hills with them and make so pretty nice turns, and they they are large enough to float in powder!
Just get those goggles off and enjoy the air lol. It's not mountains so uv is not dangerously high and you don't get snow going into eyes as speeds aren't big like in downhill skiing.
It’s just a fun aesthetic, and I enjoy wearing goggles while doing any kind of skiing. Plus they protect your eyes from branches and twigs in the backcountry ;)
I’m glad I could inspire you! The skis I use are Rossignol Evo XC. They are waxless, so they work great for almost any snow conditions! Just can't get the board to a resort that often. This can I do ever day out the back door. Would love to be at your level but still having fun in the fields and trees. I see that's all you, those look like just the off the rack skis I got. All right. So nice.
