That's their job, which is not the safest or most straight-forward in the world. And they're both professionals who can take a bit of damage for the success of a mission and who happen to both complement each other very well in terms of skill and like each other on a personal level (ever heard of chemistry?). They even had at least two conversations about hurting each other for the sake of their job and saving the world throughout both Rogue Nation and Fallout (the London train station scene in Rogue Nation and the Paris park scene in Fallout). They are grown-ups with *a lot* of responsibilities on their shoulders, and circumstances of their chosen profession sometimes push them to different sides. And they both understand that and are ready to work it out (which they do by the end of Fallout).
No matter what kind of plot they will bring us in the upcoming Mission Impossible dead reckoning part 1 and 2 , i just hope we didn't lost Ilsa Faust in thoose films
oh yeah, I'm so scared of that too >< I might be fine if it happens in MI:8 and in the end (since it's supposed to be the last Mission Impossible) Ethan dies too. I'll be very sad and emotional - but I might accept that (because let's be real, it'll probably be a glorious death). But that's like the worst case scenario)
