Hi Pete, the M3 Lee is start to look like a tank now you have its 'undercarriage ' fitted, it certainly seems to be a bit fiddly for my liking, but never say never, looking forward to the next update soon, best regards from a Kiwi living in Melbourne, Les
Hi Peter, You are making some great progress on your Lee. Thanks for the shout out, I really appreciate it. When I build a tank, I usually start cleaning up the track parts in my spare time way before I need them. That way I don't get burned out on the cleanup before I start building the tracks. If there is anything else I can do, please let me know. Thanks for sharing. Have a great day. Jeff
Hey Peter! Something must be messed up on my end mate, the time for this broadcast shows it as Saturday afternoon 4pm my time. Did you broadcast on Friday night at 8pm your time? If it was Friday, I'm sorry that I missed the show mate.
i would say that back wheel would turn ,as if the spindle goes all the way through ,it would be glued to the inner part of the hub cap ,that came in 2 pieces ,then the outer piece would be glued on just to the wheel and not the inner piece and wheel would turn, thing what needs to turn and what needs to be stationary
Hi Pete, the Lee is looking great, you have certainly put in a great effort thus far, I would have thought in these days of modern technology evey part of a kit would fit perfectly, I am referring to those pins you have to trim down, looking forward to the next update soon, best regards from a Kiwi living in Melbourne, Les
I can't watch these Lee posts as I have 3 myself to build & don't wish for spoilers or overload on subject. I hope you are enjoying it though. Campaigns in Africa early on saw yellow stars adorning U.S. vehicles.
Hi Peter, Your Lee is looking great. I'm glad I was able to help you with those wheels. Thanks for the shout out. I agree with you about part Da12, I wouldn't fit that until you get the tracks fitted for the last time.. Also don't glue in the front sprocket Ld1& Ld2 until you are ready to install the tracks for the final time. The tracks are going to be workable if you are really careful with your glue. The instructions say you will need 79 of each of the 4 parts that make up one side. I would get all the parts cleaned and counted out before you start. When I make up tracks I try to work against a straight edge just to make sure everything fits. If you need anything else, let me know. Have a great day mate. Jeff
Dear Peter, that round circular hatch on the routemaster roof is for drainage. Apparently, the Routemaster was notorious for leaks especially between panel lines. Every once in a while the Routemaster would go into the workshop and the catch removed so that water could be drained using a pump. Great Build by the way! Best Wishes Johnny
This kit was produced in 1998, and the pagoda is wrong, part B4, is a signal platform that was removed from the pagoda in her 1944 refit, and the platform just ahead of it which has the Type 22 radar horns on it should be mounted in it's place. Additionally, there are two type 89 periscopes missing from the bulges either side of the pagoda just above the main bridge, and part B9 a platform that mounted a twin 13 mm machine gun and binoculars, these are not listed to be mounted in the instructions.
Hi Pete, thanks for the information regarding IckySticky, I've spoken with Monique, and she's going to do my order manually for me,as I live in the UK as I had problems with not being able to deliver to my address, she's going to do my order tomorrow for me, many thanks again.
Hi Pete, the M3 Lee is looking great, the inside appears to be very busy, considering there is not really a lot of room, I still have to start my full interior T-55, very best regards from a Kiwi living in Melbourne, Les
Could you glue the PE part to the tool then paint that entire piece. Once you’ve painted the exterior of the tank, you could carefully glue the tool (& PE) to the tank, prior to weathering.
Yamato 1/200 model small boats seem to provide for the “seats” to be flush with the top of the gunwales not part way down inside the boat. Am I confused or what? “
Not sure what might be done other than to cut up the plastic part and recreate by gluing the seating arrangement at the right/lower heights. Very small and tedious project even if possible. Very odd that everything else is so “spot on” and these are so grossly wrong.
I am building the Yamato 1/200 scale battleship. A question about some of the smaller boats. In the anatomy of a ship the color photos show that the seats for the crew are fixed part way down the inside of the boat. But the sprue parts provided only allow the seats to be installed flush with the top level of the gunwales, not down inside the boat. What am I not understanding?
Pete, found out about you via HTM. If you are up for it I'm trying to navigate the minefield of 1:16 Radio Controlled tanks. My impressions to date are: There's a bunch of "entry level" options Heng Long, Tigen, etc. ("cheap" but crap [in my view]). Then you jump to say Agora. Dearer, but still not very accurate / "good" [in my view] Then say Tamiya. Good [in my view] Then say sonderfahrzeug-modellbau kits. Look great on the web site, but he wont answer questions before you spend the $. and finally the peak is 1/6 ArmorTek. Fantastic! - but at over AUD$10,000 (pre shipping it) would want to be.
Mate that's something I have no experience with. I'm struggling with a miniart tank kit atm let alone big rc ones. But I wish you all the best. They are amazing 👏
Hello Peter, I believe most tank modellers hand paint the tools and stowage after painting the main hull exterior. Have a look at “Night Shift”s channel for an example, he is a bit full on, but has some excellent techniques. I also believe the water bottles you were asking about are spare magazines for the machine gun in the turret. Lewis gun style switch out magazines rather than belt fed ammunition.
I thought you missed the stick mag for the Tommy gun when you first painted it and when the instructions showed it bringing stored there wasn't one, I feel like a mule as I was going to say you missed the mag, great job so far
hI Peter what a great job you have done on the Yamato👌, watched most of your vids as i have this in my stash although my instruction and decals were missing🥵! so your build will be a great help i am thinking of using outlaw paints, now we can get them in the UK , so can i ask how many bottles of gray and red did you use? cheers , again brillant job on yamato!👍
2 bottles of hull red will do. And I had 100mil of grey made and had some left over..best to have more than not enough, will use on next ship 😉. Enjoy it, it's an amazing build. 👍
I think that piece was not precisely at 45 degrees, and the tiny inward lean is causing the gap. It's a problem I have wearing magnifying glasses, as the distort your view. I should have test fitted parts even if they were 10+ steps ahead in the instructions 👍
@@OzScalemodeling Maybe that's why some modeller test fit the entire kit then taking it apart for paint and final assembly. Not always possible I would imagine.
float ,i would say it would have sunk ,those flaps stopped it kicking up dust and stones when it was moving like a mudguard ,well that was the idea, but in films of them did not work very well
Hi Pete, the build is coming along very nicely, I am not a fan of interior detailed kits, but do very ,uch admire the work people like you do, best regards from a Kiwi living in Melbourne, Les
