Fiction-wise I don't mind multiple timelines, but real-life wise alternative realities kind of unsettles me. I'm hoping the universe is not as convoluted as this. Great review, I've coded recursive algorithms and when they aren't done right, yikes! :p
Simak is one of my favorite authors. as @meesalikeu mentioned, City is great. If you can find the copy with the final story, it's so worth it and really raps up a nice story with a final stroke of genius.
im not a time travel fan, but it sounds good and its simak, so surely worth the read. most people do like time travel tho. i just read city which i loved and then way station, which was very good. simak is a great writer, kind of a pastoral style, which is nice to read. 🎉
I started city a while ago and the book literally fell apart in my hands, which was frustrating because it was a modern(ish) print. I got another copy and haven’t picked it up again for whatever reason.
I read Ringworld a few years ago and thought it was good. Have not read anything else from him. I need to check out some of his other books. Thanks for posting

There is the easy make money answer. After that, I’m not actually sure. I enjoy the concept more than I think I might the actual consequences. There is the whole germ and languages issue. I think I might have to go to the far future. See what happens.

@@ireadthisbookwithchris Didn't Woodhouse also wrote a bookseries called Blandings? I watched some of the episodes with Jennifer Saunders. I didn't think it was as good as Jeeves and Wooster though. I have some Wodehouse books. Now I must most definitely read them sometime soon.

I am a bit of a completionist for him, so that’s not an easy one. I would say either “thank you Jeeves” or “right ho, Jeeves.” “The inimitable Jeeves” will also do. Those first two are his first Bertie and Jeeves novels, which I think are preferable to the short stories in that series. But all are good.
