Any “respectable” older person automatically gets to sit in the front seat regardless of our marital status. If they decide to sit in the back then cool. If you're dating and he picks you up with mom, mom stays in the front seat. If you're married and you're picking up mom, and mom doesn't have any physical issues preventing her from sitting in the back seat, mom sits in the back. I respect my husband's mom, but she also respects the fact that I'm his wife.
