Hello I am LaviMukami, I am an author, voice actress and artist, I draw horror and pretty moderate/cutesy/normal stuff, the majority of what you'll find on my channel are speedpaints or other related art things as well as dubs. I’m a huge fan of things related to Sonic so sorry if there’s a ton of Sonic related things 😂
Respectfully disagree. There’s just far too much evidence that contradicts your conclusion that Shadow is incapable of friendship. He may not verbalize his feelings of friendship with people, but he doesn’t drive them away, and he never hesitates to help them when necessary. He welcomes help and companionship, even if he initially puts up a tough front. Knuckles does the same thing, and we don’t doubt for a moment that he is friends with Sonic, Tails, Amy, etc. The problem is that Sega has a fundamental misunderstanding of their own character. Shadow has grown as a character ever since his first appearance. If he hadn’t, then he’d still be a vengeful villain, but he’s not. He’s a dark antihero who never fails to fight for the innocent.
Ian Flynn is probably just misunderstood the question/ misunderstood the SEGA mandates. Similar to how mandates were blamed for the lack of original/fleshed out characters (esp the lack of Partners) in the recent Paper Mario games. Like, Miyamoto (?) said something to the effect of "you can only use species/character designs from mainline Mario games", and then Intelligent Systems took that as _no original characters_ AT ALL. The excuse falls flat bc we know that there are a wide variety of cannon species other than toads and shy guys nd goombas. This is, of course, speculation. But most likely, Flynn heard "no relationships" (which prolly meant no _romantic_ relationships) and went as SAFE as possible to avoid losing his job... and then internalized this mutated "mandate" into his perception of Shadow as a character. In any case, the Sonic comics aren't cannon to the main games. so his opinion doesn't count anyway.
The one thing that makes Shadow a truly tragic character is the fact that he never properly mourned Maria's death and no one ever helped him with the grieving process. Really think about it. He watched Maria die, fell from space, got amnesia, and then was sealed up and locked away for over 50 years. He never really got the chance to mourn her passing. Then Professor Gerald Robotnik, the one person who could have and should have helped him didn't. Instead, he was driven mad and turned Shadow into a weapon of vengeance. As someone who has gone through a lot death, I understand just how painful it is to lose someone, especially someone who means a lot to you. Now, I'm not saying that this should be the main focus of the next movie, but what I am saying is that they shouldn't shy away from bringing up such topics as death and the effects it can have on someone.
After all that he has gone and suffered through, I can believe Shadow has PTSD. I can even believe in the possibility that he has depression. It makes him relatable, gives him more depth, and makes him seem like a real person. I feel I can relate to Shadow. I too have gone through the deaths of family members and pets that still hurt and I also suffer from a depression that makes me cry.
I think it would help if Kit had a stuffy noise, you sounded amazing as him when he said I don't know! I love the accent too for Surge, but I feel a raspy voice would fit it better as well!
Ngl when I was figuring out what section of Imposter Syndrome I wanted to do a voice run with the voice I did in this clip for Surge was the first voice that came out of my mouth when voicing her lines lol
@@PotatChip her whole concept is based around Scourge the hedgehog, hends her being an imposter of sonic, I can really tell that Ian really liked scourge but since a certain SOMEONE (KEN PENDERS) won a lawsuit Scourge can't be used
poor both of them, tbh. it's not like she's intentionally abusing him either, she's just built to do it and tbh? with little moments like these? i don't think she even likes the fact she does it/possibly doesn't see it unless she's questioning herself. which makes less sense, but. still, yknow? i love both of them a lot though, they're such good, refreshing characters for the series
