My dad had one and my mom had a 1958 with the 392 hemi when I was a little kid in the early 60's. I remember hearing my mom and my aunt talking about how expensive gas was. And my mom said OMG it cost me 7 dollars to fill that car lol
That's a nice rear end. Thank you for sharing it with me. There's nothing like looking at a nice posi rear end. We used to comb the wrecking yards for those. Always fun to see one.
What did he have to do to get it started after 42 years of inactivity? Brakes were OK? They weren’t seized? What about the tires? A lot of unanswered questions, here. It runs and drives SMOOTH.
Powerful Torquey motors. A friend had one in a Wildcat. The 1st-2nd gear shift really planted you into the seats. Was a great car until he drove it into a chain link fence gate sideways. LOL.
Looks like you have Number 1 Plug wire off on the exhaust manifold putting on a light show of sparks , 430 are a 396 KILLER .......... I Know Nice Video.
I put one of those 430 wildcat engines in my 71 Skylark. Man did that thing move. For some odd reason i had a hard time keeping tread on the rear tires! Lol
Hey.....I just sold a 67 Electra coupe seat in medium blue to a pal who's doing a 67 Bu. He gave me $75 as it was a little crunchy from being out in the elements too long. Power seat, guts and everything too.
Extremely good and powerful engines. Way back in the early '70s a friend had a 1968 Wildcat, 430 ci, WOW that car moved!!! You had luxury and get up and go all in one.
I don't recall exactly how old I was. Under 10 years, I'll say. A friend of my family teenage son took me for a ride to run a quick errand. These are his exact words. "This is a Buick Wildcat. It's the fastest car on the planet. It's got a 430 4 barrel." 1968 seems about the right time. I was just getting into cars.
Hi Dave. Samy here from Norway. I can NOT find any where the center caps to this exact weels😵💫i'll appreciated very much if you can help me finding them. 1000 thanks👌
I owned a Catalina like this in 1964 & 1965. Same color with stock wheels. Cost me $500 while in High School. It was a wonderful ride. Sweet memories. Gas was around 28 cents a gallon. I had a job making 85 cents an hour. $3 for some gas... $1 per car at the drive-in movies, burgers at McDonalds were 25 cents... a bench front seat ... Beetles on the AM radio... living like a king!
