We all knew he would do great things in hockey, but I don't think anyone expected him to have as many accomplishments as he has today. Truly deserves to be up there with the all time legends.

Being a Penguins fan from the day they came into the league, I was 100% rooting for Sid and the Canadians in this game. (It was merely practice for actively rooting against the USWNT years later.)

Score was 2-1 after Ist period.... BUT GAME WAS NEVER CLOSE...In all honesty that 6-1 final score flattered the Russians, could have been 10-1 ... I remember Sid was on the top line with Bergeron and Perry... But Crosby , who was only 17, at the time, wasn't close to being Canada's best player... In all honesty, he wasn't even in the top 4...not in that game, that's for sure...Bergeron, Carter, Phaneuf and Getzlaf were all better, and that's just for starters... ... Crosby actually wound up in Sutter's doghouse for a bit, in the 2nd period... might have been in the first period, I forget... But I do recall Sid over stayed a shift, then coughed up the puck in a bad spot to a Russian, playing hot dog... Sutter never missed anything... and Crosby's butt was stapled to the bench for the next shift... As if to say, 'that stuff may fly in Rimouski my boy... But NOT on Team Canada, in a gold medal game vs Russia'...Crosby, to his credit, never sulked... He assisted on Bergeron's goal, if memory serves... plus was more responsible defensively after that... If Crosby doesn't play... Canada still wins this game EASILY... If Ovi doesn't get hurt... Canada still wins EASILY... if you think this game came down to the 'Crosby vs Ovi show'... You missed a total destruction of Russia by The... 'THE'... TEAM CANADA DREAM TEAM...
HBO had ALLLLL the footage. These series (when HBO did them) were the best behind the scenes I've ever seen of a professional sport. I miss these so much. They got him talking to the doctors RIGHT after it happened? How the hell did they catch that moment on the plane?
