I have always bought Aprilia's ,they are reliable bikes, only minor issues with older bikes like the RSV Mille,Falco. The Tuono's have been pretty good,Tuono v4 1000cc APRC (2012)no problems.Present Tuono v4 1100cc (2022)faulty fuel light at present moment dealership going to look at it soon when i get a service done apart from that done over 5000miles ok.I do 1270 mile rides ok on the bike from UK to Italy each summer.,very comfortable powerful bike.
I started riding my first bike. An aprilia shiver 900. Trust me it is not reliable. The riding is really nice and I love the way it sounds. But trust me I have a 2020 model with not even 10.000km and yes my wiring is replaced. my light broke, my battery is replaced. so yeah it is not reliable at all
The new honda cbr 1000rrr is a pos massive over heating problems , con rod recalls ecu frying ect ect ...yet honda fanboys swear by the pos seen 4 cbr 1000rrr 3 blown up
I understand the point but come on man Toyota Corolla, not Toyota Supra, or even Nissan GTR. Both of these are better examples for your analogy. The dealership chain is the biggest issue. Being in the states and having to wait for parts to get shipped from over seas is very time consuming. But I’ve certainly herd stories to support both sides.
I have listened to the first 50 seconds and have heard so many people talk about this. The first person to tell me Aprilia had bad reliability was in 2001, a salesperson at a Ducati dealership and the months later a salesperson at a Yamaha dealer. I have now had Aprilia bikes since 2002, have a 2000.5 mille r and a 14rsv4 fact. I love them both and they have been nothing but reliable. I do my own maintenance, they are easy to work on and we’ll made, Especially the Mille. It’s a bulletproof tank. However, I do take care of them. They can be expensive if you let someone else take care of them and you definitely want a specific Aprilia mechanic or use the great Aprilia community, like I do, to do your maintenance.
Nice review, but comparing japanese bikes to Corolla and Aprilia to Ferrari Take a brake right there buddy 😁Tuono is a nice bike, but have some respect!😁
with my 21 factory rsv4 I have left several behind but is a nice bike i own a 2018 v4 not the s and i sold it and i get the 2022 s1000rr man this bike is a bullet no regret 😊
The Ducati red (and most Italian reds) has a blue undertone whereas other brands have yellow undertone in their red giving it an orange hue in sunlight. Just picked up my 22’ V4 this past week 😎
To be happy with an Aprilia you need two of them on you can ride while the other is in the shop 😐 I’m on my 3rd motor and Aprilia takes 3 months to get approval for repairs and 3 more months to get parts 🤦🏻♂️
I am waiting for my V4 2022 and I am very excited, I owned a V2 2021 and I can tell you almost with certainty that while you go you can definitely change the engine map but as regards the dtc it can make a fast switch, I agree with you. i also agree on the discourse of recognizability and its superlative line and aesthetics, when you go around there are many people who stop to admire it and compliment her, not for nothing as an Italian I can tell you that it is considered the ferrari of motorcycles and over time has increased its exclusivity and is undoubtedly a super premium bike
Great video mate! I’m waiting on mine since December! My dealer is telling me that I can expect it start/end of June. I can’t wait for you’re video with the undertail exhaust. Is the v4s more comfy on the road then the rsv4? Is it less on the wrists?
Thanks man. This bike is slightly more comfortable than the RSV4, which was more comfortable than my HP4 was. However, I wouldn’t say it has the comfort level to do long straight highway rides like all my cruiser buddies like to try and talk me into.
They add slop to the throttle so that ham fisted riders who lack skill, don’t twist too much at once and wadd the bike, same reason they limit power in the first two gears.
When it’s over 80* outside then the seat starts to feel warm. I’ve ridden when it’s 108* in leathers. That’s when you really feel the heat but just stand up for a few seconds and you cool down fast. But who cares The smile on my face from riding a Ducati makes up for it.
Great video Look forward to hearing more about the suspension, braking, handling etc. I have a V2. Considering stepping up to the V4S. Maybe I missed it. What was your last bike before the V4?
Hey there! Sorry to say it but 6000 miles in 4 years is almost nothing. If a motorcycle breaks after only 6000 miles then there is really something wrong. It's getting interesting once you ride 10.000+ miles per year under almost any condition. Then it's possible to talk about reliability of a particular motorcycle. Drive safe and have fun.
ohhhh the heat....i got stories for days about that...so on my 2021 V2 the heat was so bad that the temp gauge would read "HI" and the bike would shut off in traffic. I would sweat bullets and it became unbearable in the summer. After a full arrow exhaust install and heat shield kit install the problem was gone completely no overheating and heat from exhaust was mild. Maybe same would would work for V4.
@@SouthernSportbikes you’ll feel most in warmer weather kinda missed it for winter cuz it kept me warm :) if the heat gets unbearable I would highly recommend the heat shield kit
i think the slack on the throttle is to help 'everyday' street riders .... as for the heat, i rode it in 85 degree temp and it was unbearable, in fact the bike shutoff on me at one point, which i think can be attributed to the slow city riding i was doing at that point. i also rode it in 55 degree weather and it was honestly nice, feels like our bikes have heat on them lol the only complaint i have is the kickstand being so difficult to pick up... im 5'7 so if youre taller, u wont notice it
Hello! Have a v4 22 as well, not the s though. Also super happy about it. But about being able to change dwc ex, all is possible at rolling by inner switch? Only needs to be off and into menue turn the wheelie control into ”off”. Do have a eu spec bike though.
Thank you for the feedback. I’m still learning the bike, so maybe it’s not an issue. I understand that the EU bikes have a bit more horsepower than the US bikes, but I’m sure the electronics and menus are the same.
Yes also learning. You know, jumping from a 996 with 1098 eng to this. From 0 electronics to ride by wire and all that fancy gp stuff. But you know what, it’s easier to ride, less fatigueing. More fun! Only done 100km yet though. Spring has just arrived here in the northern part of eu. Cheers and happy motoring!
There's so much more they could have done with the trip computer. What a shame.. it's painfully obvious they cheaped out on the software and I'm guessing they haven't bothered to update or continue development just by the looks of it.. it's probably very old. Seeing a pip with the circuit map, gforce graph, and telemetry would be so useful.
