Odd, despite the glorious day they had, that all of them are wearing coats and jackets underneath their coats. I can understand Uncle Albert wearing with his age, but why where the others wearing coats?. Maybe it wasn't that warm.
I'm surprised no amateur home video has been released by a member of the public filming some of the scenes. I know this was 1989 even before handycam type camcorders had become commonplace, but video cameras where around then albeit very clunky and expensive. With all the scenes being filmed in that seaside town it would've attractive alot of attention and crowds gathered to watch, and possibly someone may've recorded some of the filming or taken a few snaps with their camera. But saying that, it's surprising even today with everyone having a smartphone on them you see very little footage of any TV show being filmed, or at least few little footage gets uploaded.
I wish when I was a kid my parents had the energy to do this for me lol this video randomly popped up on my home page, I think your channel is about to blow up lol
When I was a kid my mum and nan would take my sister and I to Margate during Easter or half term. Good times. However I went back with my wife who had never been to Margate, it was raining and most of the shops were closed down and I think the theme park was closed down. (Can't remember really) just didn't feel the same
Its great to see it again on my phone on my own but nothing will beat sitting round the telly with your whole family and friends watching this at christmas etc.. alas those days are gone 😢
Classic show. Still brings back memories. On the flip side, I just wish these videos werent accompanied by the same fuckwits complaining about black, gay people, migrants, or "modern comedy".
My favourite episode. This scene is something special, just amazing. Funny, nostalgic, innocent. Love it, long live Only Fools and Horses ❤ thanks for uploading. Magic!! 👍
@@Edgel-in6bs so true, I've always been torn between them as being the best. "The Bear???... Well it looks like a bloody Rabbit" . For me Jolly Boys just tips the scale, I think it's the Seaside nostalgia. Takes me back to better times.
@stevejones6503 haha, yes, although I actually went to margate and Folkstone in 1989, the year of this prior to a trip to France as a 14yr old, and all I can say is this episode perhaps edited out the drunks fighting in the arcade :) Main reason I remember the late 80s and 90s wirh fondness is I was younger... "It looks like a bloody rabbit" is perhaps my favourite line ever from any comedy, albeit "I think she'll do a turn if you play your cards right" is up there.....
Loved margate as a child in the 70,s it was a treat to go on the train down from south london, have great memories of this place, wish it was still the same, when i watch this it makes me cry with happiness when times were good, and people were care free ❤️
Remember our own jolly boys outings to Margate and sneaking in to Dreamland through holes in the fences and over walls alongside the railway tracks, had to run off the end of the platform and get into the bushes before station master saw you, got caught once and fined £9 for trespass on the railway . Those were the days !! John Sullivan captured life as it was so well with his storylines and scripts and the cast were brilliant. There'll never be another Only Fools & Horses !!
This has come to light recently when trains have had to be stopped because of "trespassers on the railway" apparently trying to access Dreamland to watch whatever musical attraction is on.Quite a few top liners during the Summer or were they trying to get out ?
Hi I am the kid in this video who is steering the remote control boats with Buster. I was playing on them when they approached my Dad and asked if I wanted to carry on playing . I had no idea I would be so much in the film They was very nice to me and I remember one of the team got me a bag of items from the joke shop Sugar lumps with flies in Things to push into cigarettes to make them explode (yes it’s true ) Some other items that I kept for years and years I was 11 years old here
