Hi, this is fairly old video so might not get a response but if you were to use PAS128 and include quality levels in your layers how would yoi go about it ?
I want to create the "Alien" chin Dribble slime from the films. However I Find that the emitter releases way too much liquid at once, how can you get that slime dribble look? What parameters do i need to change?
When I am importing RVT or SAT converted from Revitm why does Inventor usually change the axes? I have to rotate them by 270 degree before grounding it to origin, is that anything you guys have come across?
Try and import the RVT/SAT model as the first component in the assembly, grounded at the origin. This will ensure that the model comes in at the correct orientation, and will retain the correct orientation in Revit if you need to export the model back to Revit.
Hi, thanks for your video :). Have you noticed the "feature" which locks the individual drawings in some relation to each other? You even dragged a drawing and I could see that it did not move as you intended - do you know how to disable this?
Note that as of May 2024 the naming convention can be edited post being applied to the AutoDeck Docs project (i.e. it does not lock anymore). This is a recent Autodesk update. Also, multiple naming conventions can now be applied within one project.
Very good tutorial, thank you! Do you know if there is a way to make a copy of the multi solid body model or assembly independent of the parent to make variations for example?
The original part can be copied and then the “make component” process can be repeated to create a new assembly. The new assembly will then be linked to the new part. Other options you may want to try are Design Assistant, Pack and Go or Vault Copy Design to create duplicates.
THANK YOU VERY MUCH FOR YOUR CONTRIBUTION. I HAVE A QUESTION WHEN I MODIFY Ortho Offset Location, AND I NEED THE DIMENSIONS IN METERS IN THE LAYOUT, HOW DO I DO IT?
Interesting video. I am in the process of teaching myself fusion at the moment. Total novice but working on getting better at this so will be waiting for the next video.
can different materials only be assigned in an assembly? I've been trying to assign different material properties to a part file to different "solid bodies" in my part; however, it doesn't seem to work properly. Any suggestions?
Unfortunately, you are correct. Idealisations can only be assigned to parts bodies within an assembly file and not to multi bodies within a part file. Our best suggestion is to use the “Make Components” command to create an assembly from the multi body part file. Once each body is represented in their own part file, you can utilise this workflow.
but the problem is when you save XML file, and then doing any changes in Project Setup (which doesn't need to be related to the Isometric) and hit Apply, Project Setup will OVERRIDE all your changes in XML whic is insane! Plant 3D is still sooo way behind Cadworx
Dear, may I ask you the Autocad Mechanical that you are using is that Autodesk Autocad mechanical 2023 or normal autocad 2023? Or can you inform me which programs I need according to this video? Thanks in advance
In this video we used AutoCAD Mechanical but the functionality can also be used in AutoCAD MEP and Architecture. The full system requirements can be found here: help.autodesk.com/view/FDU/2023/ENU/?guid=FDU_Factory_Design_Utilities_Installation_Workflows_About_System_Requirements_html. The Factory Design Utilities program is required for the tools to be used, this is a separate installation. It works as an add-in for AutoCAD or Inventor, so will need to be installed alongside either AutoCAD, or Inventor, preferably both.
There are many decent resources, dependant on what you are looking for. Some offer free textures, some paid for. These specific samples were from texture haven.
I will be in charge of setting up Upchain for my new company I'm working for and these videos have been extremely helpful to me to understand the overall purpose and features of this management software. Thanks Adrian!
Inventor now uses functionality called Model States, which is similar but far more powerful. With the introduction of Model States, Level of Detail was retired.
I am learning how use this CDE. if I am civil, the electrical team of course need put their model inside electrical folders before I can consume their package, right? thank you for your time.
Good Afternoon, yes that's correct, all models and associated drawings need to be shared as a package by the electrical team from their folders for other teams to be able to consume them. Thanks for watching our video!
Why would you risk counting things manually instead of simply using quantity take off schedules? I think even revu bluebeam has a better and more automatized system
Hello Daniella, Takeoff is designed to aggregate & track in real time quantity values be it by count, linear lengths or areas, automated from a 3D model or as you’ve pointed out, the slightly more manual approach using 2D sheets. You’re correct in saying that this can be done using quantity schedules directly in Revit, but this relies on a 3D model existing. Takeoff gives far more functionality to use 2D outputs in your project team where a 3D model isn’t available. Having accumulative workflows in Takeoff allows a user to track changes between different versions of data sets as well by using the inventory, when receiving updated project drawings & models, which then inform directly the quantification reports. I hope that answers your query, thanks for watching our video!

HI I have an Autodesk DOCS ( with AEC Collection ) but the BIM 360 is not showing. What could cause it ?
Hi Paulo, have you already purchased an AEC Collection? How are you trying to access BIM 360 (through web interface, desktop connector, Revit etc)? If you send some more information to enquiries@manandmachine.co.uk we will be able to help. Thank you
